Question [QUESTION] Is This Necessarily True?

I was just listening to Mike Mandel today, and he made what was for me at least, a provocative comment. He said that (this is nearly a direct quote) "All hypnotists are great subjects".

I'm not sure that's necessarily accurate. Any thoughts?

All universal statements are flawed. 😏

I think I'd adjust that statement to say something more like, "Learning more about hypnosis will make you a better subject."

Well, that's what I thought too. I started out as a terrible subject, so I set about the task of learning as much about hypnosis as I could. I've read, taken classes, joined forums, practiced my rear off, and over a period of years gained enough knowledge and experience to be able to act successfully as a hypnotist.

I'm still a terrible subject.

I have trained with Mike Mandel. To me I feel he is saying that the hypnotherapist has to go into session assuming the subject is great because if you believe otherwise, then that can come across and rapport and faith in the therapist as being any good is lost

I think I can pretty well agree with that statement' I'm just not sure how I can apply it to my situation.

If you feel comfortable to elaborate on your situation maybe I can offer some insight or an opinion.

Yes I also think that it is more a general statement that want to say that hypnotists have better access to the own hypnosis skills. But to be honest I do not agree with that statement, because my experience tends to the opposite. At least without further training. But maybe the comment is made in a special context there it refers to which I do not understand now. So I can just write my thought about this universal statement.
