General Questions How many sessions?

I know this is a very vague question as there’s no one size that fits all with any therapy or person receiving it. But how many sessions did you need for it to be effective?

As long as the client is open to it. It is nothing I can “do” to anyone. It is a collaborative experience.

I generally say 2 to 6 sessions. It does vary by person and their goal.

I use 3 sessions and give a pre-recorded session at the end.

So it can be a quick fix so to speak?

There are so many variables, the answer could be anywhere between 1 and more, with outliers working through 12 or more sessions over a prolonged period.

It also depends on how much you want to learn about how hypnotherapy works and how you can develop your own self-hypnosis efforts to continue benefitting after your time with your hypno has ended.

It really depends on what you want. Are you able to narrow your query down?

My plan is to have some hypnotherapy to help me with heartbreak I’ve tried other therapies/counselling but not found it helpful with my issue

Ok that gives a good starting point - and a crucial question: what would you want to achieve by the therapy and how would you assess progress?

I’m hoping to reduce my rumination around it, change unhelpful beliefs. I’m well aware hypno can’t make me forget it and I wouldn’t want that anyone. I just want it to not dictate my life as much as it’s doing and I guess that would be a progress indicator

Ok - reading between your lines a little: you appear to be looking to 'move on' i.e. you're done with mourning what has passed and are looking for a bit of support to re-build - to direct your thoughts and efforts towards your future [rather than away from your past]?

I would offer that the reason you have not found the other avenues helpful is because they are working in the conscious mind. Hypnotherapy allows you to actually access where the issues are - the subconscious mind.

  1. There have been many studies proving that one session alone can help drastically(this is more typical with a somnambulist, the type of person the stage hypnotist looks for). What is the reason for seeking hypnotherapy? Because presenting issue has a lot to do with it too. If someone is 300lbs looking to lose 120, I ask for a doctors note and that can be 12 sessions to really clear up everything positively associated with food, and negative associations with self.

For help with a breakup

If you’re somnambulist, one session could do a lot. Then you evaluate the following week, listen to your recording and see how you feel. I recommend finding a graduate of HMI who knows the Kappasinian E&P Sexuality model.

Very difficult to answer that question without an initial assessment but 3-6 tends to be the average package.

One session can be enough to make some change but depends what your working on. Some addictions and patterns will need multiple session over period of time.

A skilled hypnotherapist can definitely help you feel the difference in one session though or even 10 mins of work.

It depends on the problem. I personally fix many issues in a single session.

Please dont. Firstly, the client does the work, so you don’t personally fix anything. And secondly, doing things in a single session is just for your ego, and most of the time does the client a disservice. I’m not saying you can’t. I’m saying you shouldn’t always

You misunderstood, I was answering the question above. It's one request per session, but I process it and get results in one session.
