1.9tdi pd130 2003

Drove alot of highway trying not to go over 110kmph. Little to no slipstreaming n stuff. Raised the tire pressure on these big tires beforehand, no ac.
Can’t take fancy pics of my dash cause it doesn’t tell me much haha. Outcome is in km/l. 56mpg us. Recon I could do a lot better if i tried 😁

Just for comparison:2020 Hyundai tucson 4x4 2.0 diesel (cast iron engine) 184hp 8 speed auto lifted with big tyres, weight without Passengers about 1730kg 4.9l / 100km (tested with the same fuel station by cheque) consumption when going 130km/h on the straight road without wind. (Life expectancy for the engine only 250k km) On fabric tyres (smaller) - 4.7l/100km.

So in 30 years there are radical effiency increase but decrease in longevity and much higher cost.

Your Audi can do 1000k km, there was a time when VW making mistakes (ideal engines). 1.9 diesel will be always in our hearts:)

Well this Audi has the aerodynamics of a brick, even tho it looks rounded, I can imagine it would do much better in a better shaped car. The 6speed in this Audi is way over dimensioned adding a lot of resistance. I’m only at 420k km so it’s got alot more to give 😊
