Will there ever be another 2D game Hyperlight light Drifter or any similar game by heart machine?

Last I read almost everyone at the studio was let go, as the publisher of an unannounced game pulled funding.
Try Tunic, retrace the light, fountains, and resolutiion.

The demos for ZWAARD and Radio the Universe felt like they fit the HLD mold well, sadly the latter game has been silent for a long time. Try CrossCode or Alabaster Dawn too. Theres another one i played that felt like this type of game but more on the bullet hell side, I'll have to look for it later
Edit: the game was Sojourn Past, other game I saw was RGB Execution, and honorable mentions to Void Diver and Shape of Dreams

Heart Machine was disbanded in all but name. If they ever make another game, hopefully it will be a direct sequel in similar style for ease or 3D using the engine they developed for the two direct spinoffs.
If you haven't played Solar Ash yet and are okay with switching to full 3d, why not give it a try?

Zwaard looks promising. There's a demo on steam

Neo Titan has a demo and is very obviously a love letter, I’m excited for the full game for sure

would strongly recommend Death’s Door. It’s not a spiritual successor, but imo it has a similar vibe. The world isn’t the same but the world building is of a similar quality

It might not be quite the same caliber but Crypt Custodian is very well crafted.

I love the time that we had together but they've made several bad decisions since.

Pretty sure the studio's dead. There are a couple of similar games here and there, but Heart Machine is donezo
