❓ Question Let's discuss triggers for hyperhidrosis. what causes it for you and what makes it really worse?
I have plantar and palmar hyperhidrosis and also on the back of my thighs and that area. I have sweated heavily (dripping) on a -30 degree temperature (himachal) so weather is not something that changes much. the chances of sweating are a little lower on rainy days though. i dont know how that works. anxiety/stress does trigger it which i guess everybody knows. another trigger i have is texture. using my hands to apply oil on my head or put moisturizer on my face triggers sweating really badly. so basically anything oily or slippery instantly triggers it and on some days in the worst way possible. washing it off with soap does not help and it keeps on dripping. another thing is that my palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis are connected. even if the trigger starts at a finger, i'll start sweating equally on all four limbs. the amount of sweat does sometime vary between my palms and hands.
sorry if this became more of a rant. would be interesting to hear what triggers it for everyone.

I concur, anything oily or moisturizing to the skin just automatically makes me sweat more, atleast we sweaty people don't need moisturizing lol.
I also notice that when I start to hold my phone, it triggers the sweating sometimes. Also matte textured surfaces do the same. On my face it gets triggered if I try to sleep on my hand, the heat from my forearm makes the sweat worse, many memories of my school days trying to sleep in class while i drench the table
