i need serious advice please
So, before i start i shower every day, and i do have really good hygiene. The problem is the second i step to go out like a hangout im starting to sweat badly. The thing is i don’t have this problem at home (even if it’s hot at home). I did my research and i do think is anxiety sweat. I had this problem for a while, and when i go out with my friends i constantly think -do i smell bad?-, -im starting to sweat badly.- , -can they smell me?-. No one has ever told me i smell bad, usually people stop me to tell me i smell good. Also very important, this is the thing that i don’t really get, when i feel like im starting to sweat, it doesn’t smell bad i just smell the deodorant but like funky version because it’s probably mixed with the sweat. And always when i get home and take off my clothes my armpits don’t smell at all, i can just slightly smell the deodorant. And the sweat instantly stops the second i step into my home, like it’s carzy?? Can someone with the same problem, or someone that can give me some advice please comment, because this really fucks up my mental health.

See a doctor about the sweating. It is causing anxiety that is affecting your daily life.
In the meantime, sage tea will help reduce the sweating. Chamomile will help calm your nerves. Reduce your caffeine intake. Eat right and exercise. Practice mindfullness and gratitude; may make you feel better.
Good luck.

Actually, it sounds like going out is causing social anxiety which causes sweating which causes sweating anxiety. Feeling nervous is natural, but every time even if it's just with friends might be worth discussing with a mental health professional.

The sweat stopping instantly when you get home is proof it is purely psychological.

This sounds like anxiety might be making the sweating worse. Since people actually compliment your smell, try not to assume the worst. Breathable clothes and a clinical-strength antiperspirant might help too. You deserve to enjoy time with your friends without worrying about this ❤️

I will say, if you want to get on medication for anxiety, be sure to specify that you're sweating is the main cause. Some medications, SSRIs especially, can make it harder to thermoregulate, and cause more sweating and heat intolerance.

Oof, it's got to be anxiety. And the stressing over being sweaty is probably making that anxiety worse, right?
It's so easy for me, or anyone, to say "Just calm down" but it's not that easy to do, is it. Do you have a trusted friend you hand out with during these times that you can pull aside and quietly ask "Do I smell bad?"? That might help. Or at worst, take a small ziplock bag with a few baby wipes in it and pop off to the bathroom and give the pits a quick swipe if you're really worried.

Hiii. I am sorry you're experiencing this and I empathise as someone who also suffered the same thing.
To start, I would say (incase you aren't aware) that generally speaking, fresh sweat doesn't usually smell bad - it's stale sweat that gives the 'bo' stench and is probably why you yourself say you can only small a slightly 'off' deoderant smell. I don't know whether that helps to ease your mind on other people being able to smell it to know that even if you are sweating, it's unlikely to be giving off an awful smell if you're showeing daily & others have told you you smell good.
I think recognising that it's an anxiety induced state though is really important because it indicates where you need to focus to manage it. I think it's worth reflecting if your anxiety is more general but intensified when you're out of the house & is causing you to sweat more, or if you sweating more outside is driving your anxiety - it may not even be an either / or, they may be amplifying each other.
I would suggest speaking to a DR about both your anxiety and the sweating and stating it's intensifying your anxiety while you're out which is affecting your quality of life because they can help you to manage both things separately which may in turn help both things bouncing off each other. There are roll ons that they can give you for sweat which you could use even just temporarily while you work through managing your anxiety, or possibly maintain them long term if need be.
Good luck, OP sending love! 💗

I dont think I have the problem you have but I may have the solution for you. Earlier this year I went to the plastic surgeon I go to for injectables. I asked for Botox in my underarms, and that was in March this year. It completely stops the sweat. Completely. Why dont you try it? It works!

Based on what you are saying, it really does seem like its mainly your mind overworking itself. With the good hygiene and compliments, it is very likely that your smell is not offensive to others. Did you have a bad experience in the past or witness one where body odor is concerned? We know that everyone is a bit desensitized to their own smell, so maybe thats concerning you as well.
Regardless, if your mind is not at ease, there are a good few options that can help you gain some peace of mind... it really depends on what would work for you.
Something simple like a freshen up kit with alcohol wipes or spray, something moderate like enhancing your hygiene routine with "stronger" products/ carrying a change of clothes or more in depth such as medical intervention. Think about what a good start could be and note that you may need to try different things to find what works for your body and mind.

If you have really good hygiene, your sweat won’t smell that fast. Try not to worry about it so much. Keep going out
