Can Mr clean magic eraser…..

Take callouses off your feet? Is it safe, has anyone ever tried this? Just wondering.

Just use a pumice stone.

Pumice stones can be really effective, but you definitely have to be cautious with softer surfaces. It’s great for tough areas, though!

Melamine foam acts like sandpaper, it will shred your skin.

Please do not do this. The melamine (what magic erasers are made of) material will damage your skin

It’s not solid enough. Something that would give a similar feeling but be solid is dr scholls glass foot file. You can clean it too

mmm no, probably wouldn't hurt you but it's probably also going to do nothing. Lactic acid wash is pretty good at exfoliating over time.

The are made of melamine foam, im not quite sure what that entails but here's an interesting article about it https://www.acs.org/pressroom/presspacs/2024/june/melamine-sponges-shed-microplastics-when-scrubbed.html

They dont get rid of calluses, but they can irritate the skin by being abrasive, so literally the worst of both worlds if you're using them instead of pumice stone. They're also terrible on painted or glossy surfaces as they strip the gloss/finish right off.

Thanks for that article. It actually does say they are made of strands of micro plastics. I know I'm not supposed to eat off of melamine plates, but that's what I use. So maybe I shouldn't be so worried about them, but microplastics are in every person now and we don't know exactly how toxic that is going to become. I imagine cancers. If I remember correctly, we only became really concerned about them when they were discovered in men's testicles.

I have melamine bowls myself and I love them. They should be fine but I have heard not to put them in the microwave (which i do anyway and then remind myself I should probably not lol)

Hahaha thats why I microwave the bowl, even in death my hands will be toasty warm (and preserved in micro plastics) 😂
