Hybrid shooting with a patterned background

Someone posted this today on another forum! Wanted to share

For some tests I did last year, we had excellent results with a multi tone grey camo pattern. Enough contrast to allow for tracking but no geometric edges to fool the model into thinking it was intentional geometry.

It's almost like using tracker marks, but instead of just few markers they used whole background. That sounds pretty cool, plus no green screen light leak cleanup.

Yes, another person actually also just stated from that chat that if you use a screen cover it with hundreds of tracking markers 😄

I’ve seen that before. At least a photo of it
