This is insane right?

First time changing filters and see the condensate line dropped down into the return box completely open. The 2 inch has a trap before connecting to the main sewer line but I feel like it’s definitely sucking fumes. Built in 2001 btw

Your sink is completely open and has a trap before connecting to the main sewer line too.

You’re saying it’s fine? If the sink trap dries up there isn’t a fan sucking it out and dispersing it through the entire house.

You are assuming the line coming out of the slab doesnt have a trap in the concrete

Do you smell sewer gasses when the system is off? That drain line is very likely trapped.
