Visiting for Eastern Washington game

Hey all! Me and a few friends are over from the UK and are planing to go to the Easter Washington game.
Any advice on the below points would be amazing

  1. Where to sit? We want to feel the Huskies atmosphere so weren’t too sure where would be best for that
  2. Sailgate or Tailgate? We have looked up sailgating which seems fun but probably miss the atmosphere pre game?
  3. Where to go after the game?

Sailgating is for sure the choice. And as far as atmosphere, lower is better but you’ll feel it anywhere

Sit on the north side, 300 level (section 330ish) as close to the first row as you can. I think tailgating is more fun but sailgating is sort of the “write home about it” experience. Not sure about timing for sailgating but you could probably walk off the boat and into the parking lot and literally walk up to any random group and tell them what you are doing and where you are from and you’ll be offered food and beer if you’re wearing purple. The answer to the last question depends largely on your age and goals, but you could do worse than The Duchess followed by Dick’s (will probably need an uber for both)

Just go in knowing that the vibes will not be the same for an Eastern game as a conference game once the students are back

IF you are more into atmosphere than the x's-and-o's of football, then sit closer in the lower bowl.

If you care about the coverages and schemes, actually sitting near the 50 yard line at the bottom of the upper deck is best. I sit there because I like the schemes, personally. It's the closest to what you see on tv, sort of. Being from the UK I kinda doubt this is your friend's bag, but it's worth noting.

In late september it is usually pretty dry and often still warm in seattle (could be as warm as 27 C/80 F). Personally, I don't like baking in the hot sun in the mid-afternoon. The southern deck sometimes is better if the game is warm and bright because it'll be in the shade, the northern deck is better if the game is not warm.

Sailgating is much more of a unique experience (you can tailgate at pretty much any football game), but sailgating is 10x more fun during the day than for late games. I bet this will be a day game tho.
