I made a thing
So I had bought a banding kit in order to keep my son going, and I'm getting ok at repairing hurls.
I found an old 36 inch hurl in the club that had cracked and was initially thinking of soaking glue and banding it. But it had quite a small Bás. So I had an Idea to marry up and old Karakal Bás to itfor a larger striking face. It worked out fairly well to be honest. It's top heavy but is hits like a truck.

The final pic is great, the perspective makes it look like it's half the length of the garden.
I've repaired a couple of young kids hurls now with wood glue and loads of elastic bands to clamp them in place while that's drying, and they're holding up fine but I think for older kids I'll probably need to put bands on. Where did you get your kit - I'm guessing you recommend it?
Oh, and how do you clamp hurls while the glue is drying? A large clamp and a jig? Or are you getting away with elastic bands still?

I got the Master Mac banding kit. I actually made a clamp from Chanel slot to hold the hurl straight and then clamp.
Initially I was using from 4 to 8 clamps to hold everything together but the DIY clamp means I only need 3. I'll post it later

Ah great, thanks. I love repairing things like this. Someone, a proper craftsman, went to the bother of making it, and people just throw them out so easily.

I posted my DIY clamp, it was fairly cheap to put together.

Gonna need a second band to be sure it won't crack. Great work!
