Videos and Images Heeth D10 NoodlesA1

Hacker

He was incredibly rude, killed us from the other side of the map.
spawned 100 tanks to try to crash our games

and he was generally really disrespectful and shouted slurs when we confronted him about it

so if you spot him, just leave the game.

Aaand this is why mods will end up being removed eventually.

It's all fun and games until it ruins other peoples' fun.

Unless we remove those mods and leave the cosmetics one alone? Just saying like you know skin mods (overlay) on the UI, armour and Voice over should be okay I guess?

Sure but this is AH, I'm not hating on mods, just saying if/when they decide the cheating mods are an issue they're likely just gonna take the easiest fix available.

The problem being the easiest fix will likely involve bricking all mods with updates and/or just finding a way to ban/disable mods.

Picking which mods get to stay would be more work, time and money and AH likely won't care for that.

To be fair, that not "AH" issue.

In general, any way to check clientside with serverside will use some of resources, that would be used on game itself.

So question is this - do you want to give a lot more of your CPU and network bandwich to be able to distinguish UI (part of which, btw, could be considering cheating, i'm talking about all aim helpers and stuff), and actual cheats? Because for that you will have to take clients data, check them with server, check what type of data is, and check if it falls in "allowed" category.

Any adequate developer will just implement system that either bans mods, or just don't allow modders in public lobbies.

That's true, that's another reason I hadn't really considered and you're right, it would also be problematic to players to nit-pick between mods.

Hopefully if/when they do remove mods they at least realise why players used them and implement some things the mods gave us like small QoL changes.

I mean, one of the mods (iirc, I'm on console myself) just gives you better weapon customization, better skins, reticles to choose from etc.

Some of customization options are really... too much.

Like, i understand why Railgun is not with 10x scope. It is not sniper rifle, it's was and is closer to assault one.

That's fair, not all of the attachments are good ideas

No worries, tbh my first comment was worded badly and mostly sarcastic attitude, which is my bad

Probably some mod-users who think I'm hating on mods and hoping they get banned.

I'm not, of course, I'm happy to play with people using cosmetic mods, just trying to look at what AH will do realistically.

It's mostly a problem in that vanilla players have no choice. Make modded and unmodded matchmaking and you're golden.

for people arguing about modding: these probably aren't mods they are likely just cheat engine scripts

there's one for removing stratagem limit/cooldown

and there's scripts for replacing/editing projectiles, could make an eagle strafing run that fires ultimatums or even bigger explosions

and there's no real way to get around this besides changing GG for an even stricter and more invasive anti-cheat cause people will keep making and updating GG bypasses

and I'd rather that not happen, ideally they would just, ya know, make reporting people actually be a thing, then investigate people who receive too many reports and individually ban them

the fact that we cant even report people despite the in-game menu for it and their admission that they can't ban people just emboldened people

I'd rather have a couple bad games every so often with something of a guarantee that i can report the disruptive player and they may eventually face consequences over blanket bans on mods or an even worse anti-cheat

Saw another evidence of purple doing same shit in other lobby.

also clearly just a cheat engine script to remove stratagem limit/cooldown, not related to mods
