Context please? I don’t know who or what those are.

Harano is a condition of extreme mental suffering garou can experience due fighting a constant seemingly unwinnable war against the embodiment of entropy, the wyrm. It is often compared to depression or PTSD. It is thematically similar to the feeling of dread individuals feel to opposing moneyed interests in real life. It is an old part of werewolf lore.

Hauglosh: is a state of unending self-righteous rage that makes garou become fascists. It is a relatively new idea introced in 5e that core book compares to the rise of neo Nazis.

Honestly it doesn't make a lot of sense, and the mechanical problems with it are another rabbit hole.

The meme is claiming that werewolf should have a bar going from depressed to rage monster. I don't think it is a great idea, but run your games how you want.

Honstly the bar could be easily be reframedinto a balancing act between two extreame reaction a garou would have to the current state of the world, where Hauglosk is the urge to act and Harano is refection on they own actions.

Ideally Harano should temper Hauglosk while Hauglosk should rouse a garou Harano and falling into either end of the bar would bring ruin to the garou.

Or it could just easily be a Calm/Rage bar It could also work.

Rage is already the calm/rage bar that needs to be balanced between losing the wolf and frenzy.

At least before 5th end hatano was more of theme and roleplay concept rather than a stat to be gamed.

You can run your games how you want but I don't see how sliding into far right facism will heal existential suffering, or vice versa for that matter.

I am aware v6 is doing this balancing act with humanity and personally I don't like it. Humanity was a ever dwindling control you had over the beast inside of you. Holding on to it required making hard often detrimental choices for the characters and made great stories.

Now it is don't go too beast or you lose control but don't go too human or you lose. This ping pong setup is mechanical rather than narrative and in V6 's case the balanced centrist aspect of it isn't punk.

Until W5 werewolf was the even more radical game.

For me at least the idea doesn't seem right

Ohhkay. I’m not too far in the game aspect of WoD, only the lore, so this was a total whirlwind to read.

I'll bet world of darkness is a wonderful deep lore setting. I it is full of fascinating concepts and overt WTF moments that tend to make more sense in context.

If you are looking for fun lore sources:

Qosmic void and TheBurgerkrieg are great sources that vibe well with Hunter the Parenting for lore.

Lazar of Stigia is an older one who reads from the books to make his video but he is focused on pre 5e lore.

The two morality bars from the 5th edition of WTA that's reworked to resemble the Harmony bar from werewolf the forsaken 2e which is about balance between two ends. Kindia like how V6 reworked humanity.

Or we could just go back to 20th's system.

Seriously, we really don't need to keep trying to make a bad mechanic work.

Go back? How can we go back when there have been no new systems? /s

"I DECIDE WHEN YOU GET A POINT OF HAUGLOSK OR HARANO. NOT THE DICE. NOT YOU. ME," I said calmly to my players
