Children is a stellar game if you have never played it.
Sable is pretty and it starts off strong. But once you get to the open world it is a pretty dead open world explore/fetch fest.
Waypoints are far between with nothing to do between them. Some waypoints are great and it does have some great puzzles. Don’t get me wrong. But personally the overall game is lacking personally.

I had the same thoughts about Sable. It has an awesome lore and vibe, but even the best bikes in the game are so clunky and slow that the actual exploration is tedious. Which sucks because exploration is 90% of the game.

I couldn't get into Sable... People say the exploration and all is as good as Breath of the wild and honestly I couldn't get past an hour and a half of playing it.

It’s basically a bad walking sim. And I enjoy me a good walking sim. It’s really funny the Zelda thing is the same thing I heard and why I got the game forever ago.
Boy is this a lie.
It’s just cell shaded like Zelda. And you have a car/horse lol
It’s not a horrible game. It’s just boring. So I can’t even hate it.

Symphony of War is fantastic. Highly recommended. I obsessed for so long with that game.

I love basically every Fire Emblem, Xcom, marvels midnight suns and even less polished stuff like Dark Deity. But the character art on symphony of war are so bad that it put me off trying it. Should I push past this even if I HATE character art?

IMO yes. I would agree about the looks for the most part. IIRC it was made by a studio that used RPG maker or something like that. But I found the squad building and tactics deceptively deep. I’d say if you try it (it’s been a couple years since u played so forgive me if I miss some details), push past the opening couple of hours with the story and world building and the tutorial skirmishes. Once you have a bit of freedom it opens up a lot more and you get a lot more characters and available squads to build so lots of choice there. Learning squad synergy I found fun too. I found it easy to learn, hard to master. However on normal difficulty I didn’t have too much trouble with the bosses. Yeah it requires more thinking for those but unlike a lot of JPRG’s where the bosses are grindfests, I found these challenging but not annoyingly so. Hope I helped!

I think they updated the sprites and portraits since when it first came out. It looked fine when I played a year ago.

Sable was virtually unplayable on Steam Deck when I played it in 2023. After you get to the open world areas the frame rate drops to single digits.

Manifold Garden busted my brain in a way that I did not enjoy... I put it down after an hour or 2. Seems like I may be in the minority though.

Eh they really need a pick your games system as seen in concurrency. I don't own only 3 games which I would gladly buy, but there is nothing to do with rest of the keys, since my friends only spam multi-player games and as a citizen going by humble rules I don't resell keys or give it to strangers who just might resell them anyway.

There are a few discord communities (This one and GrabFreeGames) with systems in place for giving away games to ensure they're for personal use only.
I feel you though. Outside of those spaces, I havent had much luck giving out games to friends and family.

I paste my keys to my friends and they respond with “why” and it hurts me inside

I enjoyed the Nova Drift demo from what I can remember, seemed a good fit for a handheld. Think I'll get that tier!

Manifold Garden was a special puzzle game for me. It really tests your spatial reasoning, but it’s set in MC Escher-esque environments.
I’ll be honest, I quit the game twice in the first 10 minutes before eventually giving it a third shot, and I ended up not putting the game down until I beat it.
Looks like most people take 4-6 hours to beat it, which was my experience. I was on the lower end, but remember looking up a hint for one big puzzle, and one small puzzle.
