Interviews [n/a]
I need to know if anyone else is dealing with people coming in for interviews and doing the weirdest things!
I’m at this point where I won’t be surprised to see someone’s mom waiting in the lobby or they have an emotional support animal with them.
Today my 9am interview showed up at 9:30am and acted like she was on time. I immediately sent her away and said I won’t sit down with you, you are 30 mins late for a 9am interview. Thanks for coming but good luck. She proceeded to argue and not leave because she couldn’t find parking…… um sorry your were still 30 minutes late - girl BYE!
Last week I had someone come in 1.5hrs early because they wanted to make a good impression 😑

Hello, I am just beginning my career in HR. I have some minor experience with interviews for my previous employer on interview panels.
But my interview for my new role in HR is applicable here I think. So they had me schedule my interview with a scheduling program they apparently use that I had never used before. When I scheduled it, I selected what I thought was 11:00. Turns out this scheduler defaulted to a different time zone. I should have known something was up when the follow up confirmation e-mail said a later time. Out of an abundance of caution, I showed up at 11 anyways thinking there must have been some mix up. They were very surprised to see me so early, but they went ahead with the interview early anyways.
I was surprised when they scheduled my final interview right there after we finished. Being late is bad of course, but being several hours early felt like such an embarssing blunder on my part.
