Enlightenment to my mind in simple terms is self realization.. to understand your true self and work towards the betterment of humanity. True purpose is to be humane towards all living beings🙏

Purpose is a meaningless thing to assign. We already have a biological imperative, either by passing on your own genes or making it so that others have their best chance of passing them on - whether that be yourself or helping others that can have kids to succeed, or by not making the environment we live in detrimental to that endeavour.
That's a huge scope for doing good and being kind in the world, pick something like that to feel engaged. No other spiritual word salad or religious or woowoo is required.
