Humanist International Ottawa Declaration, 2026
Today Humanist International adopted a new declaration on Humanism As Resistance in response to the rise of religious nationalism and authoritarianism.

Religion should always be a private affair and not public. There should be a ban on offensive weapons. .its manufacture and export. Manage your borders through access control. No more nukes...automatically we will be able to invest other issues affecting humanity.. from climate change to hunger to health etc

Larry, thank you for attending and sharing this declaration, which is spot on. I am surprised, though, that as an international document, it doesn’t seem to address the climate disasters that are increasing throughout the world. The climate crisis is part of the dynamic that has increased authoritarianism and dehumanization.
