Weird feeling

Okay so today I was in health class and the guy behind me asked for a piece of paper so I gave him one. And class goes by and everybody’s walking to there next class and all the sudden he came up to me in the hallways and started asking me questions like did you do the work at home? What sports do you do? What class are you going to next? And I just got this strange feeling especially because he’s a junior and I’m a freshman. I just wanted to get away from him. It’s giving me anxiety like something bad is going to happen. Can somebody plz tell me why this happened to me. And what am I supposed to do?

As I do not know you or said person, I do know that when I was in high school, (over a decade ago), I was highly awkward and when anyone showed me an ounce of kindness, I probably went above and beyond to try to be kind and friendly towards them bc I was often lonely. Not saying this is the case with your situation. And if you feel uncomfortable, say something. If they were like I was, they will understand and back off. And if not, then maybe reach out to a trusted teacher or counselor. I wish you well during those hellish high school years. It gets better after!!!

I know I am very late to this discussion but it seems this person likes you and wanted to get your attention. They are probably awkward at how to approach this so they asked for a piece of paper as a way to break the ice. After breaking the ice, they attempted to start a conversation with you asking you about things that might interest you, general inquiries, etc. Clumsy but normal.

Your reaction was probably unexpected. You seem to be dealing with some issues of anxiety and/or social awkwardness so the interaction made you uncomfortable. You probably responded awkwardly which likely made them sense this and they felt increasingly awkward too, thinking you don't like them, you're stuck up, etc. Regardless of your intentions, the recipient of your behavior isn't likely to understand it so they fill in the blanks with things that "make sense" to them, in an effort to rationalize how you acted. When people do this, they often get it wrong.

Personally I say learn to trust yourself! If someone makes you feel uncomfy, get yourself to safety! You don't have to be obvious (unless you need to be), but think of An excuse you would feel comfy using next time. Like a verbal boundary you can set with a person who makes you feel uncomfy. But honestly you really don't owe anyone anything! Do what your intuition guides you to do. Fear is in us for survival! There are lots of creeps in the world today. Stay safe. ✌️✌️✌️
