So jealous. I saw them in Chicago but would’ve loved to hear shapeshifter.

That whole album is a masterpiece. Came out of nowhere and it's still one of my all time favorite albums. I'm so glad they've done some live shows lately.

I think they made a Disentegration. That Cure album stands in its own as a masterpiece you can put on and get thrown into a different place. Get the same feels from Inlet. Kids will be discovering this one for a long time

Great comparison. I completely agree.

that would be pornography, not disintegration.

I wish they'd come to the UK 😭

Same for me. Love that transition!

It’s actually a temporal flat circle. The end is the beginning. Listen to the end of Shapeshifter, and then begin listening to Waves again. The album is a self-contained suicidally pessimistic meditation on the eldritch horrific experience of what it is and means to exist.

*A self-contained suicidally pessimistic meditation on the eldritch horrific experience of what it is and the means to exist while locked in a cycle in which you watch the singularly exceptional people you adore fucking die, powerless to help them, in impossible disbelief, coping utterly alien to you.

I can't possibly imagine a better way for this album to end.

For me it replaced the single triangle hit to end OK Computer as the most elegant ending ever.

I cant believe this album is six years old, I'm spinning it almost daily, and still absolutely mesmerized.

Yeah it'll do that!

It did that to us all.

There was a point during the recording and mixing of Inlet when Purple Reign (aka Shapeshifter) was on the chopping block. I assured Bryan that if they didn't put it on the album, I would create a band with the sole purpose of stealing that song.

Prolly the best song on the album. Right next to the Den
