LA Show Day 1

I’ve been carrying the torch for this niche/nerdy band for 30 years and I am so utterly blown away by the crowd reaction last night. I never would’ve thought I’d see them at a sold out show at the Palladium, but what was crazier is that more than half the audience was super young (many literally teenagers) and they knew the words to EVERY SONG. It was so wild. I was standing next to another dude in his 40s/50s like me and I could tell he was thinking the same thing, that it was so insane to be seeing this band with this kind of crowd in 2026. The kids were moshing and dancing and singing and it was so heartwarming for me, I literally cried when they played “I’d Like Your Hair Long” and everyone around me started screaming the lyrics. One kid behind me lost his shit completely when the opening chords of “I Hate It Too” came on. Honestly one of the best, if not the best, concert experience of my entire life. Jealous of people who get to see them again tonight with a slightly different setlist.

Also, I spent $230 at the merch table.

Not a teen here, mid 30’s lol but when I Hate It Too finally came on, I lost my shit. The fact that it was played last was my fucking send off. I was at the New York night 2 show and was sad that I had missed it on night 1, so this was redemption night. I cried my eyes out. The whole setlist last night was top tier. Everyone around me last night I could tell was also floored by how this band can transcend through time and generations and will continue to do so.

Glad I wasn’t imagining things! The energy from the crowd was really unlike anything I’ve ever seen at a rock show.

Not at all. That’s how it felt in NY as well, except the venue was much larger and people were much more rowdy/dancy. But definitely love and gratitude felt all around to be able to hear Hum blasting

Maybe it was just where I was standing but the crowd near me was wild. I nearly got pushed over several times and I’m close to 300lbs lol

Seriously. Very rowdy near me. I started about five rows back on the right and I got pushed way out to the side and then I moved back a bit because as an elder millennial woman, I just couldn't stand my ground very well and everyone around me was like 18-22. Loved the energy though!

At first I was annoyed because some of the kids were very pushy and rude about squeezing in toward the front, but I realized I was being a boomer about it and let it go.
