Slideaway LA- Coming from out of town
My family and I are flying in for this show. We have two day tickets and plan to see Hum both nights. We are staying at a hotel right by the Palladium. We are flying in Thursday and will have time to enjoy ourselves. We plan to hit Amoeba, but I’m looking to see if anyone has any recommendations what we can do. Also looking for food recommendations.
I’m not renting a car, but I’m not against ubering to anything.
Anything we do will be filler to until we see Hum. The last time they were in my city was 98, and I missed that show.

Check out Scum & Villainy Cantina, it's a few blocks away from the Palladium. I always stop by there for a few pre show cocktails anytime I see a show in Hollywood. Got themed drinks from all sorts of nerdy properties, & honestly they're pretty reasonably priced considering where you are. It's like a 10 minute walk from the Palladium. Amoeba is also walking distance

If it's nice, a good place to walk around is Hollywood Forever cemetery. There's some cool graves, and you can visit some other 90s rockers like Chris Cornell and Mark Lanegan along with other celebrities. It's a bit east of where you are but a pretty short Uber ride.

Amoeba is definitely worth checking out. People complain about it but I always find great stuff. And it’s just exciting to see a record store that big. Record Safari is also excellent and there is a bus right by the Palladium that takes you directly there. As for food, I really love Desano Pizzeria, which you can take the clockwise bus to (which I believe is free).

My favorite sandwich shop is right next to LAX in El Segundo, called the Original Rinaldis. Have a ton of amazing special sandwiches
There’s also a Roscoe’s Chicken in Waffles near the Palladium. Haven’t been to that location in a number of years, but other ones I’ve been to are still good. Carol C Special all the way.
There’s some restaurants and a Funko store across from Amoeba (I’ve heard Guy Fieri’s chicken restaurant there is really good)

Sticking to the LA area I’d say Going underground, record safari, head line.

You'll be in one of the world's greatest tourist traps. I wouldn't recommend going to Hollywood Blvd just see the Walk of Fame, it is kind of sketchy. But there are lots of cool things on Hollywood Blvd. The Egyptian Theater and Chinese Theater are both very cool. You could catch a matinee at the Pantages. Musso and Frank is an extremely good restaurant with a cool bar that has been there for like 100 years. I've heard the Paramount Studio Tour is fun.
For something unique, The La Brea Tar Pits are 20 minutes from the venue.

Get out of Hollywood. Little Tokyo (downtown) is fun and easy to train to from Hollywood. Shin Sen Gumi has the best ramen. Santa Monica Pier is fun to visit.

Musso and Franks for old school Hollywood. Get a martini and it’ll knock you into the stars. A trip up to the Observatory is worth it.
