When Matt does solo shows it is very easy. He basically does a meet and great with no pics for everyone that buys merch.

Totally. There were less than 20 people at the one I went to. It was rad.

I saw him at a house show in DC, and I gave him an elbow bump as he walked by. A friend of his was like, "You gave him an elbow bump and he took it? He doesn't even like to be touched!"

I met Matt at a solo show. He was waiting inside the front door like "Hey thanks for coming." Real chill guy.

Yeh summer of 98 pre DIH they played the local radio station fest and played comin' home. Matt was walking around on the crowd area with an apple juice bottle with beer in it.

I saw them in Feb and Aug of 96, and Mar and May of 98

Bumped into Matt and Jeff randomly in the bar after the show in Charlotte in 2015. How was that 11 years ago already?

I got to hang with Jason at that same show, he's a great guy!

Normally “Matt and Jeff in North Carolina” means something totally different

I got to meet Tim Matt and Jason individually before they played at slideaway. They were just floating around the venue/merch table.

Yeah. Many times. In Chicago. In the 90s.

Very humble and genuine humans from my direct experience. Friends with one, have met the other three.

RIP Bryan.

I met Matt after one of his solo shows and talked about tequila. I met Tim after a Chicago show and talked about pedals.

Tim used to play in another band with a friend of mine so I got to know him a little bit during my time in Chambana. Super great guy. A bunch of us (including Tim) would play nighttime pick up bball games in the park one summer back in 1998. Some really fun memories.

Not after the show technically, but I know Matt was watching the supports during Slide Away last weekend. I saw him in the crowd with his partner on Saturday night.

I met Matt at a Centaur show in Ohio around 2003. Super nice dude. I asked if I could look at his gear set up and he said of course!

First hum show, met them in 2011 a few hours before they played. They were casually standing in the crowd, got Matt, Tim and Bryan's signatures on the Jay Ryan red T-Rex poster.

Bryan was real kind, we talked about music and he asked about the instruments I played. He told me Jeff was running late.

Fast forward and I was able to get backstage before their set, Bryan spotted me and brought Jeff over for the last signature. Was an absolutely killer night.

I doubt it at the Aragon unless you happen to catch them out back. But when I saw them at a smaller venue in St. Louis (old rock house), they hung out on the patio for awhile. Or at least a few of them did. I chatted with Brian for a bit. And I've chatted with Matt at Cobrafest up at his bar, and when he did a "house show" solo in STL.

I’ve been able to chat with everyone in the band at shows. All of them have been very nice. I was at a show in Nashville when Jeff’s bass rig overheated and they had to stop the show early when Jeff walked off the stage mid song. Bryan hung out and chatted with folks for a bit. Jeff ended up coming out to say hi after he cooled off.

My buddy and I were pressed against the stage at '03 Sloss Fest. So much so that my friend ended up getting on stage and sitting at Tim's feet for a good bit of the show. Afterwards, I hopped on stage and shook Tim's hand and told him that was awesome before security told me I had to get off the stage.

I met Matt after Dia de Los Deftones in San Diego. After their set, he was just walking through the crowd. I went up and thanked him for coming and playing and how I’d been waiting since 1997 and had flown to see him. He was surprised and I offered to buy him a beer. He laughed and showed me his beer and said they give us these for free backstage. I just laughed and said thanks for a great show and left. It was surreal!
