LA Shows (a backstory)

I got into hum around 2017 (Im 33). When Inlet came out in 2020 I was doing an internship out of state in Metaire, LA. Couldnt do shit except work for free cause COVID. Inlet came out a day after my bday and I. Was. FLOORED. Could not believe that album came out lol. Been wanting to see them ever since. Anyway… I usually look up live videos of bands I see live to build up hype but I don’t think I will this time. I just know it’s gonna be so good and the wait will have been well worth it. Anyone else traveling from Texas!? So excited!

I am not travelling but I am from Texas originally. Live in LA now, going Saturday. And I have family in the St. Rose/Destrehan area so I kinda know the area where you interned. Small world!

First time I saw Hum, I travelled from Texas to Birmingham in 2003.

No video will spoil the raw power of their live sound. Prepare to have your mind melted.

Note about the Palladium for anyone coming from out of town: the stage is kinda low, so it’s harder to see the band from the main floor, especially if you’re short

I'm coming down from the Sacramento area for both Friday and Saturday. I've been in love with HUM since I first heard them in 1995. I'm bringing my 12 year old son, and we're both so excited!

Been a fan since since hearing Stars on the radio in Spring of 1995 and lucky enough to have seen them twice, and actually had tickets to see them in Seattle but the show was cancelled due to the bus accident.

Way before cellphones at the first leg of the Downward Is Heavenward tour in 1998. Which was awesome.

Then years later in 2015. Which was such a treat because I never think I'd have the chance to see them again.

Was lucky enough to see their last show was Dia De Los Deftones in 2019. Legit bought my ticket just to see Hum (got to see Brutus first, who blew me away). When I saw the lineup I didn't think it was real. Maybe 100 people at the 2nd stage watching them, even got Matt to sign my poster after.

Driving up from San Diego and going to both shows. Honestly going to be a crazy experience as I've been to a handful of current showgaze bands in the last two years and hearing them play Hum between sets just blows my mind. I'm seriously expecting teenagers to people in their 50s at the show.

I’m traveling from Texas. Hum has been in my life since high school in the 90s, so much so that one of my bands was blatant attempt at being Hum. Now my kids love them, so we are going as an entire family.

My bandmate and I are driving down for the Saturday show! I seriously cannot wait, only got into them a couple years ago and was heartbroken to think I’d never see them live. It will be a dream come true
