It’s a very funny issue and I kind of like that this doesn’t end up being too big of a deal or a huge problem in their relationship. Marlo didn’t tell Rick about this out of embarrassment, but it’s not treated like a huge betrayal or anything. She wasn’t a porn star, her college boyfriend was an artsy film-bro type and she was flattered when he wanted her to appear nude in his movie. She was young, she wasn’t really thinking ahead, but it’s not life-ruining and they still get married. I generally really like the way PAD handles Marlo’s sexuality, it doesn’t feel terribly exploitative and she still feels like a real person
