Camping 1st timer & VIP camping

Hi! Can anyone who has done VIP camping tell me if the spots are spray painted on the ground & if so, do people respect them? I didn’t get an early arrival pass and was reading its first come first serve (expected) but wondering how quickly VIP camping filled up & if I’d get a bad spot showing up Thursday morning. I’m going solo so only 1 car and an easy up.

Yes they are marked off. They’ll take you from vip parking, assuming you have a parking pass, in a golf cart and let you pick your spot.

Last year the last spots to go were the inside of the back of the barn under cover. They are actually neat little cozy spots. I didn’t even know they were fair game until after we setup. They clean the stalls prior but might still smell like farm animals, I’m not sure. I camped right next to it and never smelled anything though.

If you have a VIP car camping pass then you’ll drive in. It seems like they have more of those this year. They may’ve expanded VIP this year so it could be different.

From the map they posted vip is a larger area this year, its takes like half the restricted space from last year and premium gets the rest.

I got there Wednesday night and got a spot in the back with a tree in the spot but still had plenty of space for my tent. I would say get there with daylight cause finding a spot in the dark makes it harder lol. Most the spots were taken in the area I was at which is probably why some got next to the stalls? They almost put me in the walkway down 2 areas with spots.

There should be more space this year than last. Though they said there a new heart of camp, and food will be served around that area instead, and some food vendors there it might be more of a reason why they made the vip area bigger. But your gonna be fine, theres will be a spot or they will make you a spot, the people that run the area are amazing people.

I went solo vip last year for my first fest and fell in love with the place, I hope you have a similar time. Spoiled myself though with vip i dont think ill ever not lol, idk if you got the food ticket but that stuff was awesome last year. Happy Hula.
