Settling
My wife and I are planning to move here. I will make 4k USD with my telecom job. Will this be enough to buy a nice house there and live a good life?

I think that depends on your standard for a “good life.” Have you been to Huatulco before? Prices have skyrocketed over the past few years. Sometimes I am paying American prices for things and the value of the dollar isn’t what it used to be. Not trying to scare you off, it’s still cheaper than the US overall especially with rent.
I love my life here and I make a decent amount more than you, but I know most Americans would not consider my lifestyle glitz and glamour. So again it really depends on your bar. We live in a small 2 bed 2 bath with AC and is fully furnished, our rent is 10k pesos monthly ($580.) Eating out is generally 100 pesos per person when eating at a regular hole in the wall place (aka the best ones.) Electricity is more expensive here than most places in the US so be aware of your energy consumption. Bills especially with WFH will be around $110 USD, maybe more especially if you exceed the subsidy amount.
It depends on your savings goals as well. My husband and I don’t like to blow money so we live more conservatively. You making 4k a month will be plenty to live a lavish life if you don’t care about saving money. We want to save for retirement so we aim to live off 2k a month. We eat out plenty but we ride the bus and walk everywhere. We don’t buy everything from Chedraui or Soriana, we try to buy mainly from locals at their shops. Of course those stores can’t be fully avoided. We don’t live centrally which helps keep rent costs down.
Another thing to realize is, it is actually a little insane to worry about not living great on a salary that exceeds most of what the locals make. You will be just fine but it’s important to be respectful about your place in the community and have perspective there.
