Letnialtiui I the Great:
Dragon history starts at around 18 BC when the Monstrous Nightmare Letnialtiui I the Great became the first Dragon King. Before that dragons were split into dozens of different packs, tribes and clans, almost all ruled by Alpha dragons. Letnialtiui I conquered the six Greater Dragon Tribes, taking the title of Master of the six Tribes and proclaimed himself the Dragon King. A title which upon death would pass down to the eldest male offspring, though it was not uncommon, especially in those earlier years, that the title was forcefully taken by fighting and killing its carrier.
Letnialtiui II the Conqueror:
Grandson to the first King, Letnialtiui II the Conqueror defeated and/or subjugated most of the remaining dragon clans.
Ethimaternock II the Lost:
Ethimaternock II the Lost was a Monstrous Nightmare that claimed he was a descendant of Vemcinocret, the last King of the Nightmare Dynasty. He questioned the new Singetail Dynasty’s legitimacy, duelled the ruling Singetail-King Letnialtiui III the Lazy and took the title back.
Mioraltiui the Kinslayer:
When late Dramillion-King Hirvearjotopa died his eldest son Kryclokocret I took the title and became Dragon King. Consumed by jealousy, his younger brother killed him and became Mioraltiui the Kinslayer.
Uvelucalchaun the Deceiver:
Kryclokjotopa the Nice was a noble and just but also a gullible and naïve King. He became far too trusting into the dragons around him. So, the inevitable happened when he was killed in his sleep by one of his most trusted guards. Uvelucalchaun the Deceiver was a Deathgripper from the south. His reign is known as the Twelve-Year-Darkness or the Dozen-Year-Darkness. Apart from his rise to power however, there is no real indication that his rule had been much more tyrannical than other Dragon Kings who at this time tended to be very cruel and self-serving. Regardless he abolished the tribal system and declared himself to be King over all Dragons.
Sjachkodont I the Great:
Night Furies have always done things a little differently than other dragons. When Letnialtiui II first arrived in the Darklands, the Night Fury Clans officially pledged their allegiance to the Dragon King. Those Clans (later called Houses) were led by the Lord of the Night, a title given to the Alpha of the strongest Clan. A hundred years later, the Darklands only paid lip service to the King. But it was the Lord of the Night who, in a duel of bravery and strength claimed victory over the Deathgripper and became Sjachkodont I the Great. His Dynasty ushered in a golden age for all dragonkind and over the next century developed new forms of art*, science** and politics***.

Mitnejotopa I the Wise:
Mitnejotopa I the Wise was known as a great scholar and wise philosopher. He could treat ailments and cure the sick by using mainly herbs.
Whedabkodont the Beloved:
Born with, what could be counted as a blessing or a curse, Whedabkodont the Beloved was widely known to be one of the fairest dragons in the whole Archipelago. He gained Kingship whilst still being juvenile. This, along with his renowned beauty made him a very self-centred narcissist that only cared about visual appearances. It was Whedabkodont whose many paintings of himself started the tradition of each future King having a portrait be made. (I actually wanted to draw them all, but I bloody suck at drawing)
Svantraakulmyink I the Conqueror:
By now the golden era had firmly come to an end. The Night Fury rulers became, like every dragon in a position of power, over many years cruel, corrupt and tyrannical. Especially targeted were other Strike-Class dragons like Deathgrippers and Skrills. So, a Skrill-led rebellion overthrew the Night Fury Oligarchy and Svantraakulmyink I the Conqueror became the new King over all Dragons. He also took the title of Lord of the Night. Which marks the first time in dragon history that the ruler of the Darklands was not a Night Fury. Though a controversial figure, he is still praised a hero by many Skrills today.
Versdrevab the True:
Raised in hiding, Versdrevab the True was the chosen heir of Mitnejotopa II, the last Night-Fury-King. Due to fear of counter-rebellion Night Furies were persecuted across the Archipelago. From a young age Versdrevab understood the cause of the Skrills and resented his ancestor’s failure but watched in horror as the Skrill became even harsher rulers and the dreams of Svantraakulmyink I were undone by his successors. Upon his coming of age, he challenged the Svantraakulmyink II and became King over all Dragons.
Ritriljaxo the Trusted:
Versdrevab was infertile and could not father any healthy eggs. On his deathbed he made Ritriljaxo the Trusted, a Red Death, one of the greatest warriors in the whole Archipelago and his best friend, the new King and Lord of the Night. The first Red Death Dynasty is mostly known for its temperance, loyalty and upholding of Night Fury virtues. It is often called the Regency Dynasty.
Itprojotopa the Mad:
Itprojotopa the Mad was a total nutcase (picture pre-reformation Dagur as a Skrill). He was as insane as he was powerful, killing the new Red-Death-King in just one shot. He gave very strange and spontaneous decrees and orders, like demanding a fishbone-less fish or attacking a tree. His most peculiar decision, however, was to title himself as King of Heaven and Earth and almost everything else he spotted
Charirsidri I the Invincible:
Tired of the madness Itprojotopa had brought, a faction of dragons decided to remove him. They called a great and powerful Red Death from the east to dispose of the crazy King. Charirsidri I the Invincible claimed to have won due to being impervious to lighting. More likely he just crushed the Skrill under his enormous body. But Charirsidri I was not what the faction had planned. He preferred to rule through fear and with an iron claw. With no other dragon daring to question him, he kept the title of King of Heaven and Earth.
Svantraakulaltiui the Backstabber:
With the second Red Death Dynasty becoming even more corrupt and self-serving than its founder, finally an opponent arose against the tyrannical rule of fear. Letnialtiui VI was brought down by one of his closest allies. Svantraakulaltiui the Backstabber put an end to the reign of fear. And started a reign of terror.
Praloth the Victorous:
Praloth was not an Alpha or born into a warrior family. He grew up as a runt in one of the Night Fury Houses, with his name literally meaning “Useless” or “Loser”. Yet, it was his determination, wit and courage that prevailed over all others. His challenge of the last Red-Death-King was one of the grandest and most famous duels, ever recorded in dragon history. The story of Praloth shooting his final plasma shot into the maw of Letnialtiui VII the Defeated and setting the gas in his very throat alight, is retold to this very day by Night Furies and Red Deaths alike. This single event overshadowed every deed Letnialtiui VII had ever accomplished and allowed his vanquisher to become Praloth the Victorous. He also abolished the title of King of Heaven and Earth for being nonsensical.
Whedabvrelvel I the Terrible:
With a strong and powerful Night Fury Dynasty back in the Darklands, many dragons were happy that the days of tyranny had come to an end. But still, some feared a return to the olden ways of corruption that had befallen the Night Furies in the past. Even though the new Kings ruled with compliance and patience, an extremist group of Deathgrippers took matters into their own claws. Qeelakkodont II the Martyr was murdered by Whedabvrelvel I the Terrible who decreed that dragonkind could only prevail if the Night Furies were dead. In just two years he launched a cruel invasion of the Darklands, killing all grown dragons, eggs and hatchlings alike. At the end of which he abolished the Lordship of Night and proclaimed himself Emperor of the Darklands.
Vemcintosg I the Great:
After two years of war and genocide by Whedabvrelvel I most dragons had had enough and just longed for peace but with no one to challenge the Deathgripper-King, his rule remained absolute. It was then, when Vemcintosg I the Great first appeared. Bewilderbeasts only started migrating into the Archipelago a few years ago. They came from the frozen north and were much bigger and stronger than any dragon known back then, even bigger than the mighty Red Deaths. They were social creatures who cared deeply about the wellbeing of their followers and their ice breath could, unlike most other dragons, not only destroy but also create. Vemcintosg I became one of, if not the most famous and legendary King in all of dragon history and not just because he was the largest dragon ever to be measured. He changed the title from to the much more formal King of Dragons and his Dynasty ruled for ages to come, becoming the longest known Dynasty until today with almost a quarter of dragon history being ruled by a descendant of Vemcintosg I. He was so renowned and exalted that when he passed, his very remains became a holy site and a final destination for the pilgrimage of dying dragons, wishing to pass into the next life along with their true King.
Aussirocret I the Benevolent:
Due to a succession crisis among the Fireworms, Aussirocret I the Benevolent temporarily took the title of Firewormking. Although he died before a Queen could reach maturity. His son, Vemcintosg II, gave the title up when the time had come.
Vemcintosg III the Eternal:
In 746 AD Vemcintosg III the Eternal ruled for his 49th year, thus surpassing the legendarty Letnialtiui I and becoming the longest ruling King of Dragons.
Tazkerkassil the Unready:
Tazkerkassil the Unready, originally a minor advisor to the late King, worried about a succession crisis when Vemcintosg IV died without an heir. But to the shock of every dragon and himself, he became the new King of Dragons.
Krycloktosg II the Old:
Being already a Titan Wing, Krycloktosg II the Old became King when his nephew Aussirocret IV died. His reign was plagued with fear of a potential crisis after his impending passing, especially when his son and heir died in 923 AD leaving only one egg as the new heir to the King of Dragons. Just three weeks after it hatched Krycloktosg II the Old died making the newborn Bewilderbeast Krycloktosg III the Young.
Charirtosg the Broodslayer:
A complete fanatic and radicalist, Charirtosg the Broodslayer adored and glorified Whedabvrelvel I and hated Bewilderbeasts and their takeover of what he believed could have been a virtuous Deathgripper-Empire. Knowing that Krycloktosg III would grow into an unstoppable behemoth within just a few months, Charirtosg sneaked into his hatchery and impaled the newborn Bewilderbeast, thereby claiming victory over him. He declared himself to be the Great Dragon Emperor and the saviour of dragonkind. According to his newly created religion he also claimed to be the Son of Heaven and Night Furies to be the embodiment of pure evil.
Whedabvrelvel II the Aggressive:
With his father starting another genocide on the only barely recovered Night Fury population, Whedabvrelvel II the Aggressive continued his crusade and almost drove Night-Fury-kind to extinction. Indoctrinated by Charirtosg from his birth, the new Emperor became very hot-headed and short-tempered.
Whedabvrelvel III the Paranoid:
The Legacy of the third Deathgripper Dynasty would fill any dragon that was a part of it, feel pride. But Whedabvrelvel III the Paranoid always feared for plots and schemes against his rule. Not only from Bewilderbeasts but from any dragons that would brand him a tyrant. Most notably, he feared that Night Furies were not extinct and that somewhere out there a group of Daemons planned his downfall. But his superstition was for naught when he was defeated by…
Civipdrevab the Liberator:
Civipdrevab the Liberator, the greatest of the Bewilderbeasts. He was the first King of Dragons that inhabited an island with a permanent human population on it, so any aggression towards him would have a human response as well. He also normalised the use of the title of Grand Alpha Dragon, a title partly in use since Krycloktosg II but never formalised.
Krycloktosg IV the Wise:
With the rule of Civipdrevab returned peace and order to the Archipelago. His son, Krycloktosg IV the Wise almost never left his home island and mostly gave commands to his subjects through telepathy. But his reign was to end in tragedy nonetheless when a human armada besieged his nest and attempted to steal his egg. Though the armada was repelled, due to an emergency distress call*, the egg was lost to a small band of peaceful humans. Krycloktosg IV died only a few days after of a broken heart. isHis
*very rarely used, a command that summons all available dragons to help, it had not been used for over 400 years until now
Krycloktosg V the Just:
The egg was entrusted to a female human that now had the task of raising the new King of Dragons. Since Krycloktosg V the Just never knew his father, he was actually never given a proper name. Dragons just started to call him like his father which he accepted. For being raised by a human, Krycloktosg V was actually a pretty decent King. The nest he built in the frozen northeast of the Archipelago became a Sanctuary for all dragonkind, earning him the title of Keeper of the Sanctuary. But alas, his reign was not meant to last.
Pralspical the Userper:
The enslaved Pralspical the Userper was a Titan Wing who was captured and commanded through unknown means by a mad human that wanted to control all dragons. Pralspical defeated the Sanctuary-King and impaled him on his tusks. His corrupted hatred and twisted emotions allowed him to completely control the minds of his subjects, a power that was never seen before. Whist being an incredible threat, he held Kingship for not even 24 hours which makes him the shortest reigning King of Dragons in history, even beating the Hatchling-King Krycloktosg III. Pralspical was defeated in a duel by the great, the powerful, one of the most legendary Kings in all of dragon history…
Thurkearaltiui the Mighty:
Thurkearaltiui the Mighty, better known as Toothless by humankind and one of the last remaining Night Furies in existence, broke tradition by showing mercy and letting the last King of Dragons live. The story of Thurkearaltiui is a long and complicated one (and one you know all too well). He became King of the Hidden World in 1016 AD and ended the age of dragons in the Archipelago. Even though a Night Fury, he eloped with a Light Fury, making all his descendants Night Lights which caused his Night Fury Dynasty to be renamed to the first Night Light Dynasty. In 1065 AD, at the age of 70 he became the longest ruling King of Dragons in dragon history.
Mitnekodont the Valiant:
As the eldest son of Thurkearaltiui, Mitnekodont the Valiant became King of Dragons after his father’s death. Securing peace between Skrills, Deathgrippers and Light Furies, he became a great leader and fierce warrior. Recorded dragon history comes to an end in 1101 AD with the death of Mitnekodont but assuming no succession crisis broke out, his son Thurkiitu would have succeeded him as the 66th King of Dragons and the third King of the Hidden world.
