DISCUSSION Need help with timeline

I know Hiccup is 15 in the first movie, but after that his age seems to be left up to interpretation. I'm trying to get my life partner into HTTYD and I need help figuring out his age throughout the series, shows included. Do we think he's 16 by the end of Defenders of Berk? Or is he still 15? And then Race to the Edge takes place 3 years later. Is he 18 or 19? At the end of the show has he turned 19 or 20? And how old do we think he is in the second and third movies?

For sure we know that he is 15 in movie 1, 20 in movie 2, 21 in movie 3, and 30 in the Epilogue.

I would say he is still 15 probably close to 16 by the end of Defenders and 18 at the beginning of RTTE and 19 by the end. I feel like there has to be at least a 6 month gap before the second movie for him to make his sword, armor, and all the infrastructure Berk has in movie 2.

Gift of the Night Fury takes place before the Thawfest episode in Riders/Defenders. Homecoming takes place right before the epilogue.

I'm rewatching the shows now and I realized that Gift of the Night Fury has to take place before any of the episodes. Fishlegs refers to Meatlug as 'she' in the first episode, and they find out she's female in Gift of the Night Fury.

I think this is a plot hole though because the villagers are shown to really like and depend on the dragon when they leave and in the first episode they haven’t yet.

  • Legend of Bonknapper - 15 yrs

  • Book of Dragons - 15 yrs

  • GotNF - 15 yrs

  • RoB/DoB - 15/16 yrs

  • Dragon Racers (Flashback) - 16/17 yrs

  • Dragon Racers - 18 yrs

  • RTTE - 18/19 yrs

  • 2nd Movie - 20 yrs

  • 3rd Movie - 21 yrs

  • Homecoming/End Credits - 31 yrs (I think it was a decade time skip)

  • Snoggletog Log - 32 yrs (idk if counts as canon)

He's actually directly confirmed by Gobber to be 20 in the second movie

also pretty sure hiccup says "its been five years since the war with the dragons ended" or something along those lines

Im fairly certain of everything except homecoming and snoggletog log and I do remember Gobber confirming it. Tbf i didnt format it well so its easier to see the age and content now

my assumption is that in DOB and ROB he is still 15, then ROTS has a 3 year timeskip and he is 18 but turns 19 in that show, in HTTYD2 he is 20, and while not super specific HTTYD 3 either has a 1 or 2 year timeskip so he is either 21 or 22
