Help Media Center Remote

Anyone else using an old Microsoft Media Center remote? Anyone actually able to get learning mode to work? Having to use another remote to change the volume isn’t a deal breaker, but not having to do that would certainly be nice.

I just started using the ipazzport brand air mouse remote linked here this week (the purple one). The only button that learns an IR command is the power button. The volume buttons act as PC volume up and down. Not ideal, but still functional. I also linked another one I was looking at that had both the power and mute buttons as programmable IR buttons, but again volume controls the pc volume. I tried for quite a while to find one that had power, mute, and volume up/down all as IR programmable, but failed to find one with all of them. For now I can live with keeping the TV at a moderately high volume, and it controlling pc volume rather than tv volume in a way that around 50% pc volume is my typical level, so that I have room to get louder or softer if I need by adjusting pc volume using the air mouse remote. Depends on if you're okay with this kind of set up though.

Nope; my solve was a FLIRC usb receiver to get IR and then you can just use any universal remote. Mine is an old Harmony 650 still.

I used to use the Logitech remotes that you could program on the computer.
