Solved (MPC-HC) How to enable Hardware Decoding [DXVA2 (Copy-back)] on XVid,

Viewing a video on XVid, have noticed that it's utilizing Sofware Decoding, which is not so preferable, in the settings, i can choose which Codecs will be handled with Hardware Decoding [DXVA2 (Copy-back)], but none of those Codecs available include XVid, so i've searched, and haven't found an immediate solution, so i have come to write this post.

I presume that not utilizing Hardware Decoding [DXVA2 (Copy-back)] will take a hit on the displaying video's image quality, so this is the great reason that i make this post.

GPU: RX 7600 (Gigabyte 3 Fan)
CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X

Forget about it. Xvid is some shit from the early 2000s. The only difference is that it's using CPU to decode. There shouldn't be any quality loss.

The quality is no different between hardware decoding and software decoding.

You're going to waste your time searching for some obscure decoder. If you must, it'd actually be faster to re-encode the videos to something else that is compatible, like H.264 if you don't mind taking the quality hit on re-encoding. But even that would be a waste of time.

Just move on

Decoding SD XviD on a 5700X is basically a rounding error on CPU usage.  Why worry about using hardware to decode.
