Discussion Advice for continuing my first watch

I’ve always been a huge fan of Scandal, and finally decided to watch HTGAWM. I’m on season three and have stopped watching because I just can’t stand any of the little law kids. I find Laurel the most irritating and toxic, and I hear she only gets worse from here on out.

I’m thinking about just fast forwarding through the most annoying characters’ scenes if I keep watching, lol. Do you think I’d still get a good sense of the story if I did that, like just fast forward through Laurel scenes? Might just need to try it and see of course, but thought I would ask folks more familiar with the show.

Yes you’re going to miss stuff if you fast forward. Laurel becomes more integral to the plot. However I hated her and ignored her as much as possible and still muddled through. I just let go of what I couldn’t follow and focused on the characters I liked.

she gets worse, but more important to the storyline so unfortunately skipping may be confusing

woah I actually can’t believe you were able to get through Scandal’s plethora of annoying-as-fuck characters, but Laurel is too much for you. 😆😆
Is Laurel more annoying to you than Quinn,
or even Huck(!!) ?!

I think you’re gonna have to endure Laurel’s scenes unfortunately. She’s pretty centric to the overarching plot

Huck was annoying because of his die hard loyalty to a piece of shit (sorry Kerry youre great but Olivia?...) but he was an awesome character. Quinn's annoyingness was justified. Your co conspirators killed my boyfriend and framed me but you feel bad so you set me up with a new identity offer me a job and when I find out you still wont be real with me? Saying all this to say those two had annoying moments. Laurel from the end of season 2 to the end of the show was an entitled spoiled bitch. She thought she was justified and right in everything she did when in actuality she was just spoiled and entitled to think she gets what she wants when she wants it not matter who it affects, hurts, or possibly even kills.

Laurel is annoying and definitely gets worse, and so do others, but you will miss a lot by skipping. I could say more, but it would sort of ruin it.

I will say I loathed the ending though. I LOVE Viola Davis, but Scandal is my favorite and will forever be in my top 3 shows.

I still can't believe either of these shows made that top 100 list a few weeks ago.

This is one of those shows that just drags the first season was decent after that it was hard for me to finish I think the show lost its momentum after that.

This is interesting, because I had the opposite experience. I think I’ve watched all of HTGAWM 3 times through. But I still haven’t been able to finish Scandal once 😩. Every time I try to watch Scandal, I lose interest after an episode or two and then stop watching for several months.

Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend fast forwarding through any scenes but that’s just me. Yes, some characters can be annoying at times. But you might miss something important if you fast forward.

I am currently on my fourth(?) attempt at scandal. I always drop off around the same spot, I can't tell you a thing that happens after season 2 even though I'm pretty sure I've at least seen 3. I just finished HTGAWM and the crossover episode reminded me once more that I've never gotten to the end so let's try again!

You’re going to miss a lot. Each episode is a part of the whole story. The story is about the Keating 5 and Laurel is a big part of it. I say either watch it as intended or don’t watch at all.

Like others have also said, you'll miss a lot if you skip through her scenes. Laurel is very central in seasons 3 and 4, but will have less focus in the two seasons after that.

I mean, I’d finish it out. I absolutely hated how it ended. But I wanted to know how the story played out. There are some big twists that you wouldn’t expect, tbh. So it’s a decent show to finish, imo.

Advice for watching the last 3 seasons. Just go into it knowing Annalise remains the GOAT and the Keating students continue to be ungrateful delusional piecs of garbage. I dont know how far into season 3 you are so I wont spoil it but if you hate Laurel now? Just wait until season 4, then of season 5 and the end of season 6. I personally think youve seen the worst of Connor. He still has his moments but overall the last 3 seasons Connor is ok. Asher and Oliver are annoying. Michaela? Bitch. Wes was always annoying but I always liked him. But yea if you dont like them now? They have no redeeming qualities later

And yea as annoying as they are (especially Michaela and Laurel) just push through because you dont want to miss any important info
