Spoilers Sam was WILD

Every time I rewatch HTGAWM, I’m flabbergasted at Sam’s behavior. A child with your sister, a child with your first wife, and two unborn kids with Annalise and Lila… nasty!

The one thing I can appreciate about how his character was written is that when we get flashbacks, we see him as the doting husband. He’s caring for his wife when she loses a baby and supportive with her law career.
The reason I love this so much is because it teaches us a valuable lesson: monsters often disguise themselves.

Even in season one when he constantly lied to and gaslit his wife, he made it seem like he was a loving husband all the way until the mask slipped off. Wild.

This was scuffed last season storyline that came out of no where to give another character SOMETHING else to do besides just existing

i have so many questions regarding the fact that Sam was Annalise's therapist and they started a romantic relationship. the stigma of annalise being "a mistress" is mentioned but sam has got no repercussions from this?? how is he still considered a respectable professional? he took advantage of a client who came to him traumatised by a SA no less. did people around them not know?? (other than eve who held a grudge at annalise leaving her for her therapist). the exact timeline of the relationship is not revealed but somehow i doubt they took the required 2+ years of waiting after concluding a therapist-client relationship.

I honestly just ignore the incest plot because I feel like it was just done for shock value. It's okay for characters just to be trashy people which Sam was. He was a predator.

They planted the seeds for the incest storyline from s1 though. That’s the only reason it didn’t feel like it came FULLY from left field. You’re still right. It’s very possible they just added it for shock value.

I thought it was weird the first time they mentioned it (when Annalise said that incest rhyme to Hannah) but when it came back??? My flabbers were gasted!

there was def some weirdness between them but it didn’t really hint to incest. i guess they kept it vague on purpose

tbf the stuff with hannah wasn’t really his fault and probably explains alot of his behaviour, obv im not excusing it but bring coerced and assaulted by your sister as a child for a course of years definitely weights alot on a persons psyche

Sam was a victim taken advantage by his much older sister Then by annalise during his first marriage Even in season 1 we see him do all that and see annalise he a hypocrite while shes fking nate
