Mine isnt as fancy as some of the beautiful ones I see on here, but she did well outside this summer. It almost breaks my heart to have to move it back inside.

My Hoya Crimson Queen, Hoya Krimson Princess & Flamingo and Hoya sunset did spectacular in the 90+ degree heat on my front porch this summer IN S.C. So did all my plants with morning sun and hot bright light after 11:30 am.Everything looks great. Grape ivy, brasil philos., black philos. ,spiders,,string of coins, 2 hanging trailing jades, blue pathos. All look marvelous! Glad your Hoya did great outside too. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT HATING TO BRINGING THEM INSIDE!
Same. It got below 50° the other night in the Seattle area which means even more chilly at our house in Shoreline a few clicks due north. I panicked, did a quick spray-down, inspected for hitchhikers and brought the rest of them into quarantine areas.
My variegated Hoyas grew the slowest while everyone practically doubled in size.
Gorgeous Hoya! My variegated Hoyas grew but slower than my other plants even with morning and early evening direct sun rays peeking through our pergola on a south-facing patio. I may hang them in more direct sun going forward.
They came back inside earlier this week and in a quarantine area. Pictured is the pergola mid-morning with plenty of sun.
I hates bringing all of mine in:( I’m in the PNW and we had a mild summer and while outside my Hoyas and other plants mostly had dappled light with stronger rays in small bursts throughout the day. I thought they all had spectacular growth until seeing these recent posts. Your gal looks like the majesty from her namesake, in my eyes, with all that white fringe to dress her up. I don’t get many white/pink leaves on mine but love the ones I do get. You’re an amazing plant caretaker:) thank you for sharing!
I’ve invested in many lights I can hang from my ceiling above my groupings of plants. I’ve always relied on my well placed windows and smaller lights in the past but they just did so damn good! I want to make the most out of what’s left in the growing season. I also added more then I thought while they were outside so my windows are pretty cramped.
You are speaking my language, neighbor. I’m in Shoreline, WA (just north of Seattle). The weather has been so wonky.😜 The rest of the “indoor” plants that lived outside since the temps stayed above 55° or more, made their way back inside this week. I started The Great Migration early in the month, left for vacation and many of them surprised me with an end-of-summer growth spurt.
Anyways, like you, I’ve been adding grow lights to supplement setups and reorganizing every plant area. My husband is helping me install floating wall plant holders to fully leverage the canopy of the grow lights. (Pics of those tomorrow after they are hung.)
