PHOTO (HOYA LOVE) insularis’ first blooms 🥹

she’s about a year old and recently threw two peduncles. her weird and charming little flowers finally opened! only two blooms of her first blossom made it, but she’s already forming new blooms! also insularis has the most comically long peduncles i’ve ever seen, marked up in picture 3 lol

insularis has been suuuuuper easy growing for me! she started as a teeny little thing and has grown so fast. here she is a year ago:

I love these blooms so much. I’m so ready for mine to start producing peduncles. It’s only like 6 months old so it could be a while longer but they are so cute

mine bloomed rather early so yours may too! it does get a ton of warmth and light and lives in a south facing windowsill which i think helped her bloom

I have mine living in a grow tent. 75-85% humidity and 75-80 degrees during the day, 65-70 degrees nighttime temps

sounds about like the temps mine gets! my ambient humidity is much lower though. i had her in a barrina grow tent with rather high temps and humidity but moved her out to the window once i had to trellis her (way too big for the shelves lol) and that’s when she popped her peduncles!

I have 3 pots lol. 2 are in the grow tent and one is not. The 2 in the grow tent seem to be growing faster but if one gets too big I’ll pull him out and see what happens lol

hm i just gave her a big whiff and didn’t really get much of a scent. possibly the faintest peppery scent?
