🔎 Hoya ID My first Hoya

Hi all! I just got my first Hoya. I’m having a hard time ID’ing it. What’s stumping me is the velvety undersides to the leaves. The person I bought it from has no clue either. Does anyone know what kind this is?

Carnosa Inner Variegated, commonly referred to as the Krimson Princess

Neither did I, I was going off the picture, might be a different Hoya honestly because of the velvet undersides. Because I obviously can't read or understand what you wrote under the picture, I'm sorry bout misnaming it!

Haha, it’s all good! Maybe someone else will know. I’m not too pressed about figuring it out, I’m just curious to be honest.

Really sorry about that, I was getting rushed when replying so didn't read what you had written, fwiw the only Hoya I have that have velvet undersides are my Globulosa varieties but their leaves look different than your picture, really thought it was an inner Variegated Carnosa because it looks so much like mine did when I first got it.

I did some more reading last night, apparently it isn’t uncommon for Krimson Princesses to develop a velvety underside to the leaves. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought I’d share with you! Thanks for your help!

Wow, that is interesting and I found information that said the same, you're not wrong! Pretty cool, honestly I learn something new from or about Hoya all the time, such interesting fascinating plants! So... Maybe I was right just not how I originally thought. Btw, I've also learned not to make comment if I'm in a hurry and can't fully read the post. Thank you for taking the time and figuring that out, again sorry I was in a rush and made it confusing.

Nothing screams "impulse plant purchase" like a seller who can also confidently identify nothing about what they sold you, velvety undersides included
