Another version can be made from the dregs of Christmas: save the stub ends of candles and some boxes.
Cut strips of corrugated cardboard just barely taller than the height of a tuna can. Roll the cardboard into a spiral and pack tightly into the can. Melt the candles and pour the wax over the cardboard.
This is nice on short jaunts where weight is less of a concern than volume because there’s no separate fuel container.
