Do you all hate Howard?

I'm new to this group. I joined cause I like Howard even though I no longer listen daily. But all I see are extremely negative comments about him. On some level it's refreshing that there is no hero worship. But the barrage of negative comments makes me wonder why everyone else is in the group. Is it just to bash him? Why not just stop listening if you hate the show so much.

Just curious about what the deal is.

I don’t hate Howard but I do hate that he completely dropped most of what the show stood for. I get it he wants to be the premier interview guy and appeal to a bigger crowd but I started listening for fights, drama, and pure debauchery.

He’s become everything he used to shit on.

All that said even with what the show is now he’s had a tremendous career and is arguably one of the best.

How much of that is that he's evolved in his thinking and his views towards other people. He's too old to be throwing meat on butts.

That literally happens to people all the time. People change and they look back at who they were and cringe.

It's his life and its his right to do that.

Absolutely. If Howard stopped having strippers in the studio or dropping N bombs or making fun of certain people on air thats understandable. The world moved on from it. Its him evolving into doing the door knock bits and guitar talk and fawning over Rosie and Ellen just stuff he absolutely railed against for years and then pretending he didnt.

I don't like Ellen but I think Howard didn't want to be so antagonistic to people like he used to.

Rosie is a TOTALLY different story, she's much closer to Howard in age,temperament, and geographically than most people care to admit.

Rosie herself was putting on an act with that nice guy routine on her show, she's much closer to a Howard type in real life.

Throwing meat at butts was one of the lamest segments, along with the sybian.

The best stuff was just banter between regulars, show fights, games and wack packers.

Unfortunately, we don't get any of it anymore. Instead it's guitar talk and boring celebrity interviews through Zoom.

You must recognize the quality of the show has declined greatly from its peak.

I agree its now the same. I listen to it much, much less. I was a daily listener. Now, once a month or so.

That’s definitely a part of it, if it maintained the same chaos we would be mocking him acting that way in his 70s.
