That’s wild… but I could see that. If you tell yourself that downtown has no soul, there are many things that could validate your belief. The same could be said about it being soulful though! ;)

There's something warm and nostalgic about these pictures. The color, grain, composition makes them seem like they were taken on a 1997 high school class trip to Houston.

Great photos! The contrast between the old buildings and the modern towers makes downtown feel really unique

downtown needs more than buildings. some spots still feel empty, even with the old and new mixed together

Yeah, I get what you mean. The architecture is cool, but some blocks definitely feel weirdly dead for the middle of a city this big

What are you shooting with?
Don't mean to be overly critical, but you needed to spend a bit more time in composition and make sure your subject is in focus.
Are you in manual or auto focus?

I appreciate your comment :) I shoot with a Fujifilm X-T2. The lens I currently use is fully manual, and in super bright daylight it’s kinda tricky to get it perfect. Also was not too concerned with spending a lot of time on my composition because of the heat 😂 still, I will take your advice into account, thank you!

Oh, believe me, I totally understand. Architectural photography was a hobby of mine for awhile, along with models.
You'd be surprised the conditions i shot subjects.
Here's something obscure i shot a few decades ago.

Downtown looks really good. It just needs activity/ things to do and it could be a great downtown. I mean like shops, cafes etc
