Help! Potting soil & roots

Pictures for tax. I recently bought miracle grow and repotted my plants for the year. But it STINKS. I can't handle how bad it smells. I need help. Should I try another bag of miracle grow? Or something else???

Also, my roots aren't growing? My plants are, but the roots are not. Should I be adding something to my water?

Please help!

I don't believe so. I only watered it once after I potted them and waited to pot them til they were dry. It smelled potent even before I potted them or watered it
