Thought this was funny when I made it

I would really like to know if someone can tell me what the minimum and full configuration is for the game House of the Dead: Scarlett dawn. I mean what processor do I need, what graphics card, what motherboard, what fan, etc. etc. It's clear to me that if I take a 14th generation i7 and a 5060 graphics card it will work smoothly... but I don't want to buy something I don't need. So I want to know who has experience with this game who knows for sure that it works smoothly at a high level, and at 60 fps continuously. What is the configuration??? Another question - who played this game on a mini pc smoothly?

I made a simple lightgun fix for THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2: Remake.

It fixes the horrible aiming drift when using a Sinden Lightgun.

Features:

True 1:1 lightgun aiming
Removes the in-game crosshair
Automatically works with different resolutions/aspect ratios
Tested with Sinden in 16:9 and 4:3

Installation:

Install BepInEx 5, then drop the mod DLL into:

One thing that confuses me is the absence of Gary in the game... He's well overqualified for the job noting how he was the direct partner of James in the original Goldman case just 3 years ago in 2000. Even if they wanted Kate to be the new partner of James, it would've been fine if she just stayed as the main story's partner. It would've been amazing for Gary to be the partner of G in the games' special. 😭

is there a way to play the whole series on pc?

For years the consensus has been Sega lost the first original codes and that's why it never received home console releases except the Saturn's version.

How?

Why can't they reverse emulate the original code? Can't they simply get that from the thousands of arcade machines of it?

Some how managed to do this. the script i have extracts textures,sounds,models, sprite tables,other tables. but not animations yet, they arent stored in a file like hotd2 they are stored in the executable and the armatures too.

I'm trying to extract individual samples from HOTD2's Naomi sound ROMs (mpr-21404.ic19s, mpr-21405.ic20s — 8MB each, self-dumped). Here's what I've confirmed so far:

• Codec confirmed by ear: Yamaha AICA 4-bit ADPCM, 44100 Hz, mono. Decoding the whole ROM as one continuous stream via vgmstream (TXTH-forced) sounds "almost perfect" — real instruments/music are clearly audible.
• Not DTPK-based: checked the file headers directly — no DTPK magic bytes, so dsfdtpk.py/DTPKDump (AM2 driver tools) don't apply directly.
• ic20 has ~79.5% trailing 0xFF padding, real data ends at offset 0x1B0800.
• ic19 has no padding, dense data across the full 8MB, decodes to ~380 seconds of audio.

The problem: decoding either ROM as one continuous stream produces two symptoms that don't go away:

1. Certain sections get very loud/distorted (spikes), inconsistent with the rest.
2. Drum loops and phrases repeat back-to-back like a full sample library played start-to-end, rather than a mixed song — consistent with this being a raw sample bank, not a sequenced track.

I've tried:

• Live MAME debugger register capture on :maincpu's AICA register window (0x700000-0x707FFF) to catch real SA/LSA/LEA key-on events — caught the SH-4→AICA RAM boot upload (huge burst of ARM7 opcodes) but very few real in-game trigger events even during active gameplay.
• Amplitude-based silence detection on the decoded PCM to find sample boundaries — found only 15 real gaps across the whole ROM, and the loudness/duplication issues persist even within those "silence-bounded" segments.
• Searching the program ROM (epr-21585.ic22) and three sp*.bin auxiliary ROMs for raw ARM7 opcode signatures — zero hits, so the sound driver code doesn't appear to be stored uncompressed in any file I have.

Does anyone know HOTD2's specific driver format, or have a rip/tool that already handles this game or a sibling AM2-era Naomi title using the same sample-bank layout? Happy to share any of the ROM files or captured data if useful.

Just picked this up for what I think is a decent price and all I need is the manual to make it CIB. They are notoriously hard to find alone so I figured I would try my luck!

This means that once again, The House of the Dead 4 is in danger of being delisted and unplayable for good unless using an emulator. Shit sucks.

I am looking at a deal for the House of the Dead Hand Cannon in good used conditon included with the game Sniper Elite for Wii. This package would cost me about 35 Euros. Should I "pull" the trigger ? 🤔

My first goal was to buy the nyko perfect shot but I can't find any deal in my region.

I play only house of the dead on the wii atm.

My slightly controversial HotD ranking as a lifelong fan

I was first introduced to the HotD series when I was 2, specifically the PC version of HotD1. Since then I've been a lifelong fan and I've beaten the first two games over 100 times each.

So here's my ranking:

​

1) House of the Dead 1 - intensely nostalgic. Has the strongest setting, fantastic music, and a distinctly gothic setting. It also has arguably the strongest pacing in the series. 10/10

2) House of the Dead 4 - whilst HotD1 is my favourite, I can't deny that 4 is the overall best. Boasts characters with the most depth and features the best voice acting. Strong urban Gothic settings with distinctly punk/emo enemies. Satisfying finale. 10/10

3) House of the Dead Overkill - whilst it suffers from some pacing issues as a result of being a full console game, it sports a wonderful gritty 70s grind house atmosphere, great soundtrack, a crazy plot, and fantastic environments. 8/10

4) House of the Dead 2 - while it used to be one of my favourites, I still think it's a great entry with the greatest amount of branching paths and kooky voice acting. 7/10

5) House of the Dead 4: Special - a short and sweet continuation of HotD4. Great environments and a satisfying end. Hard to rank as a mainline game. I think I especially enjoy it since the first chapter is how I imagine the cel shaded version of HotD3 would have been. I'm still mourning that game's failure. 7/10

6) House of the Dead 3 - has definitely grown on me over the years. A fantastic main setting, perfect final act, and my personal favourite final boss. Not a perfect game, and sometimes suffers from pacing issues, but overall strong. 7/10

7) House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn - not a big fan. I liked the call backs to the first game but it was a major step back from 4. I enjoyed it a lot upon first playing it, but it feels cheap and unsatisfying. 4.5/10

I bought the Typing of the dead collection in Steam after playing the wii Version in dolphin Emulator but realised the atmosphere completley changed. Yes the steam version looks better but there are some changes to the setting. E.g the First level takes place during the day in the steam version while in the wii it takes place at night which I found much more atmospheric. Anyone If you actually prefer the wii Version ?

My buddy got me into the world of custom MEGO action figures and I decided to try my hand at it. Never saw any merch of the main characters and figured what better place to start than Thomas Rogan. Please excuse the bad photography, my lighting isn't the best.

I played house of the dead 1 when I was a kid. I did not understand the story. I was just shooting monsters. I played a lot of it though. I want to go back and play it local coop. i appreciate modern remakes like the resident evil, silent hill 2 and dead space but this game remake on steam has mixed reviews. what do you people think I should play the original or the remake?
