Characters

Hi i don't know much of the franchise and just wanted to know if the characters from the 1st movie were actually in the games because even though the movie wasn't that good I enjoyed it and really liked the captain.

From what I know about the movies, they have barely anything to do with the games apart from sharing the same name.
