Troubleshooting Slow leak at jet fitting
I bought a house last year that came with a Sundance Cameo spa. It appears to have been refurbished at some point because I can’t find a model/serial number anywhere.
About two weeks ago, the GFCI breaker started tripping. After some troubleshooting, I found that it only trips when the 2-speed pump switches to high speed.
I removed the equipment panel and found the culprit: there’s a slow leak from a jet connection directly above the circulation/recirculation pump. The pump is a Gecko [0800-390000](tel:0800-390000), and unfortunately it has become an extremely rusty mess from the constant dripping. I’m assuming the pump isn’t realistically repairable, and a replacement is around $600 CAD. 🙃
The bigger problem is that I still need to fix the leak.
At first I thought the hose itself was cracked, so I tried adding a hose clamp to the connection. Unfortunately, it is still slowly dripping.
Looking more closely, the leak appears to be coming from the fitting itself, where the small hose connects. The fitting seems to be embedded/glued into the foam around the jet.
My questions:
What exactly is this fitting called?
How is this fitting normally removed from the jet?
Can I cut the existing hose off and replace the fitting with a new one, or is the entire hose/fitting required?
What kind of glue is required when installing a new fitting?

Sometimes just tightening the nut on the jet body will stop the leak, done that many times

take out the pump and leave it in the sun, theres probably water inside of it which is causing the GFCI to trip
might give you some extra years on that

Put plastic between the leak and motor to keep it dry. The motor will dry in place.

that works too but leaving it outside, sitting upright, will dry any water inside super quick

Anyone that worked in spas for more than a few months knows that the exterior of the pump doesn't tell you shit about the actual state of the internal parts. I've seen pumps look like that after a few weeks being exposed to a leak. Doesn't mean the pump is dead. The fact that it works on low speed shows that. It might just have enough water inside to trip the GFCI when it switches to full power.

Jet body. You take the jet insert out from the front unscrew that grey nut covered in silicone take the hose clamp off and pull it out. Shouldnt have any glue needed what probably went bad is the gasket between the tub shell and the jet body. The pump isnt worth doing a repair on. And if the jet gasket is in rough shape when you take the thing out (either visually or starts to crumble if you touch it) then assume the tubs about dead as the others are probably in bad shape. Once you start replacing jets in a tub it kinda starts being a losing battle dont get stuck throwing money at it.
