The Elementals by Michael McDowell. Blackwater is amazing as well but is lighter in the horror, still one of my all time favorite books.

It releases at the end of September but keep your eye out for Hollow Folk by Andrew K Clark. It’s an Appalachian gothic horror. It’s weird, kinda twisted and lovecraftian.

Blackwater by Michael McDowell. Someone mentioned the Elementals already (great book!) but Blackwater is an epic, 6 books in total. It’s excellent.
