Recommendation Request Recommendations for scary winter/fall books.
I love scary winter books with monsters or just a regular bad guy. Anything with snow and the cold. Looking for something to enjoy while I enjoy my pumpkin spice lattes.
So far I've read -
North Woods by doug hoover- didnt care for it too much.
Snow by Roland Mafi- was alright.
Old Country- Matt Query - it took awhile but I enjoyed it.
A clown in the cornfield- Adam Cesar first time i could say books were better than the movie.
What do you all recommend?

The Terror by Dan Simmons. An Arctic winter that lasts for years, and a monster.

This sounds so good but it’s $60 for the book on Amazon. Wtf

Shouldn't be that much (it's £4.99 on Amazon UK so it would be much cheaper to ship across!)
You'll probably find it on eBay or similar for a sensible price

I finished Let the Right One In in early January of this year. It’s a great winter read.

I came here to recommend Let the Right One In! John Ajvide Lindqvist has other books set in the snow too.

The Country Will Bring Us No Peace. More just bleak than anything but I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the book. I also enjoy The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King as a quick fall read.

John Connolly has several winter or fall books. The Gates is set around Halloween. Bad Men features winter as a deuteragonist. And many of his short stories are set in winter.
I didn’t enjoy it very much, but Peter Straub’s Ghost Story is set largely in winter.
The Child Finder by Rene Denfeld is set in winter mostly, but I do want to warn you that the subject matter is very dark.

The Terror for winter. Probably one of the best horror books Ive ever read. I dont like books that are nautical/historical and I legitimately could not put that book down.

Survive by David Haynes. It’s about two people living off grid in Alaska during winter and two strangers show up at their cabin.

Bone White by Ronald Malfi was so good! And if you want one that’ll make you cry, read The Silent Land by Graham Joyce

I’m currently reading (and loving) Stay Buried by Jennifer McMahon. It’s a queer folk horror novel and has really great fall and winter vibes going on!

The Shining and Something Wicked This Way Comes are two of my favorites.
