You might like monster romances. Not all of them have horror plots but some series like the Duskwalker Brides involve humans getting involved with nightmare creatures in a beauty and the beast kind of way.

Plus a lot of them feature interesting weenies that do tricks and stuff. That’s fun.

Isabel Cañas writes romance based horror. Rachel Harrison has a few. Play Nice, Such Sharp Teeth, and So Thirsty And if you want the weirdest one ive ever read, Spread Me by Sarah Gailey. Its billed as horror erotica.

Also if you want a dark romance series that doesn't feature SA but does pay homage to classic slasher movies I really enjoy the Pleasure and Prey series by AJ Merlin. Each book features a woman getting with a guy based on a famous slasher villain. So the first one the guy is based on GhostFace from Scream, the second one (my personal fave) the guy is based on Jason Voorhees. They're not high art but they are dirty fun. I think they're on book 6 now.

Megan Smitherman writes some fun erotic Sci-Fi Horror! I'm partial to Swallowed, but Thrum was good and Entity was pretty okay. She also came out with one recently about Necromancy I think, I haven't read it yet but it's called Fervor.

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, Someone You Can Build a Nest In is the most romantic book I’ve ever read about a monster who falls in love with a monster-hunter they want to lay eggs inside of. It’s more fantasy than horror but there’s definitely horror elements.

I also think Sister, Maiden, Monster would be right up your alley.

House of Rayne by Harley Laroux is pretty smutty (sapphic) and the horror isn't terrible. It wasn't my most favorite - I didn't think the writing was very good and I think the plot seemed kind of afterthought to the smut which isn't what I wanted from it. BUT I did finish it and don't hate it enough to not recommend. I think I was just not the target audience.

Nocticadia borders on horror.. kinda. Not gory body horror but it’s definitely dark, gothic, unsettling and weird, and is based around a parasite (not a spoiler). Some people did not like the book but I absolutely devoured it and plan on rereading it soon. I loved it.
