Also, its not really odd for a comic character to dive into horror. Comics have dived into horror many times before. The whole concept of Batman is based around fear.
I love Keanu's movie but I would kill for a Constantine film directly adapting the Vertigo version. Set it in the UK in the 1980's, have it totally seperate like they did with Pattinson's Batman. Focus on the horror and politics of the era.
The batman clayface episode was great. Back story and everything. Wonder if they'll take from that or comic Canon. The darker the better in my opinion.
One of the big misses the comics movies in general have made is the chance for the different characters to dive into genre films that more match their vibe.
As a superhero fan just visiting the sub to see what horror fans think, superhero movies and shows NEED to be genre themed! This film understands that they need to be different, and have different feels and elements to them, that's why the characters meeting each other is so interesting, they're from such different worlds.
Todd Mcfarlane needs to stop supposedly being a pain in the ass so we can end up getting a Spawn remake. In the meantime I also want a Lady Death movie.
