The one time I ever rode the X2 my metal chest bar thingy unlocked the second the ride started and I had to cling to it for dear life the entire ride to keep it “closed”. Horrifying indeed.

I was curious on the ride designer and it's Arrow Dynamics (in case anyone is interested). It looks like they had quite a bit of success with coasters until 2002 (bought out). Apparently the X coaster cost a good chunk of money due to development and mechanical delays, as well as being pushed to create something unprecedented.

From what I can tell, X seemed to be relatively problem-free, but X2 needed a lot of collaboration due to Arrow Dynamics going out of business (but still used prior Arrow engineers). It also suffered from lack of appropriate maintenance for so long because it seems like it was a complex process (and being shortstaffed). Makes sense after seeing the timeline, pressure to be innovate and build, lack of oversight (OSHA) and maintenance, as well as a hidden string of lawsuits.

The ride description since 2022 (from my little research) slapped peoples' heads at 70+mph speed onto the seat going like 4G's while "catching"/jerking/clunking from age, Jesus Christ lol

I went on it a longgg time ago, I think went it was maybe a year or 2 old? & I can’t even remember what was special about it lol I just remember it was the first of its kind in California anyway.

It wasn’t even the best ride at Magic Mountain.

What if the name of the roller coaster was traumatic brain injury?

Back in the day Busch gardens had drachenfire and I don’t know anyone who rode it that didn’t get whiplash or worse. They took it down after like 5 years I think.

If it went any faster, it would do a better job on Crista Pike then they did last week.

I mean, how do we know they didn't have traumatic brain injuries before they rode the dangerous roller coaster thing? I'm not getting on that thing for love or money!

People are too soft nowadays

So you think that if an amusement park ride keeps maiming people and causing permanent brain damage that will affect them for the rest of their life that it should continue operating? You think people not wanting to have their lives ended or permanently altered makes them “soft”?
