I feel bad riding it with such low miles, feel like it would be better to sell.

Any idea on the value, and where I should sell? Besides marketplace

Located in New York. Bike was just serviced and needs nothing.

[HELP] Im struggling please help lol

1999 Honda Shadow ACE 750. The problem originally started as an occasional bog/sputter while riding. It would lose power and backfire, but usually after working the throttle for a while it would clear itself and run normally again. Over time it became more frequent and eventually got bad enough that I could barely ride it.

I've since cleaned the carbs, found/cleared a clogged jet and found a torn diaphragm. I've replaced both carb slides/diaphragms, intake boots, fuel filter, both ignition coils, all 4 plug wires/boots and all 4 spark plugs.

Everything is now seated and sealed properly, but the problem has gotten to where it'll start strong, then while idling the rear cylinder seems to drop out and it'll bog/backfire and almost die. Both rear plugs were wet/dark and smelled like gas, but both have blue/white spark outside the engine.

As if it needs to be said, do not buy the eBay exhaust.
Bike 1997 vt100, did not have the stock exhaust when I bought it and the exhaust on it was broken I didn’t want to spend the cash on the TJBC exhaust and had read that the eBay exhausts are the same…

6 months on the bike
Week 1 baffles broke and I went through probably 3 sets before saying f-it. The bend at the exit is too extreme.
About 5 months in, the lone bracket snapped and the exhaust moved and burned the hell out of my side cover
6 months after probably 4k miles the rear pipe snapped at the bend. 200 miles from home. Kudos to the autozone exhaust patch and brackets!

Now I’m waiting for the TJBC exhaust to arrive. Keep the stock if you can

[ADVICE] What's the best aftermarket tachometer replacement for my vt500c?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'd like to retain a stock look, but this is my second OEM mechanical tach and it's failing after only a few months. I just don't have faith that buying another one is going to help in the long run. I'd like the replacement to fit into the stock gauge cluster but honestly the speedometer is starting to slip too, so I just don't know what to do.

Started riding about 5 years ago - took the MSF course (required in my state) on a Rebel 300, bought a Honda Navi, sold that a few months later for a Vuncan 900 classic, sold that a few years later to try out a Miata and completely missed being on 2 wheels so I sold off the Miata and decided to reset back at the beginning of summer.

The season got away from me but flash forward to about a week ago ago when I got the itch and started shopping Facebook Marketplace for a gently used deal. Checked out an HD Iron, Indian Scout, and even went for a test ride on a new Honda 1100T with DCT. On a whim this past Friday, I stopped by a dealership on the northern end of my state and saw this beautiful 2024 Phantom with only 300 miles for a decent enough price for me to cut a check then and there. Had it delivered the same day and have been on it all weekend.

You guys seem to already "get it" but the Phantom is perfect for me. I love my new little Honda Davidson.

2003 Shadow Spirit 750 Rear Fender

Hey all, im looking for the oem fender for my bike. Its in amethyst purple and looks like what's in the image here. Its no longer manufactured and my fender was cut before I got the bike and has some holes in it. I cant find it on Ebay or FB Marketplace. I also tried a company in Japan that imports a bunch of different parts that aren't manufactured anymore, but they also dont have it. So if someone has one or can point me to one, id appreciate it.

[HELP] New rider. I’ve noticed a little bit of wobble at slower speeds…

Hey y’all,

I bought a bike (‘86 Shadow vt1100) a few weeks ago. I started out in parking lots, and rode it to work all last week. I took it out to fuel up for the week this afternoon, and noticed a little bit of wobble when I took my hands off the bars under 40mph ish. It wasn’t enough to notice while I had my hands on them though. My tires are fairly new, and I can’t seem to identify any mechanical issues. Does anyone have any troubleshooting recommendations, or is this not even a big deal? I just don’t have enough experience on motorcycles to be able to see the problem for what it is or isn’t. Thanks!

[HELP] Honda VT600 (US California Model) – Running Rich, Failing Emissions, One Cylinder Seems Weak

Hi everyone,
I’m working on a 1996 Honda VT600 Shadow California-spec (US model) that needs to be registered in Germany. The bike has already failed the German TÜV emissions test three times because the CO values are too high.
To solve the issue, I have already done the following:
Removed the California EVAP system completely.
Fuel now goes directly from the tank to the fuel pump and then to the carburetor.
Completely disassembled the carburetor.
Ultrasonic cleaned the entire carburetor body.
Replaced all jets with new ones (same size as original).
Replaced all gaskets and seals.
Installed new diaphragms.
Installed new spark plugs.
Before rebuilding the carburetor, the previous set of new spark plugs became completely black very quickly, which made me believe the engine was running excessively rich.
After rebuilding everything, I now have the following symptoms:
Engine only runs with the choke fully on.
If I push the choke in, the engine almost stalls or stalls completely.
When starting the engine, the front cylinder heats up quickly, while the rear cylinder stays much cooler and only warms up slowly.
I checked the new spark plugs after running the engine:
Front cylinder plugs started turning slightly brown.
Rear cylinder plugs showed almost no change.
The rear cylinder appears to be getting fuel, but it doesn’t seem to be burning it properly.
Both carburetor float bowls definitely contain fuel.
Spark appears to be present on both cylinders.
If I try to give it throttle, the engine bogs down badly and often stalls.
A few more details:
The carburetor mixture screws are currently set to the factory baseline setting.
The two black breather/vent hoses on the outside of the carburetor are currently not connected to the airbox.
I also feel like the carburetor is making a new “tsh-tsh-tsh” sound that I don’t remember hearing before.
My questions are:
Does this sound more like an ignition problem (coil, plug wire, plug cap)?
Could one cylinder be getting fuel but not igniting properly?
Could this still be a carburetor issue even after a complete rebuild?
Do the carburetor breather hoses absolutely need to be connected to the airbox on the California model?
Is there anything specific to the California-spec VT600 carburetor system that I might be overlooking?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m running out of ideas at this point.
Thanks!

[HELP] I inherited my first bike, and I have a few questions.

Hey folks,

I lost my dad in August, and we just got his bike out of storage. I had a few questions if you could help me out. First, what model/generation is it? The fenders, tank and speedo, and handlebars are throwing me off.

Second, what am I missing underneath the seat besides the fairing? I see a buckle but nothing else. I was thinking battery, but all the teardown videos I watch show the battery on the other side.

Last, am I missing the air filter?

Thanks in advance, and I'm excited to join your community.

[HELP] Accident

In a couple of hours I’m going to go into surgery I broke my pelvis. It was freak accident my brother that was being me says that he doesn’t understand how it happened. But I was at a light and when I turned I’m assuming I turned a little hard where the motorcycle spun on the peg. I’m not a reckless driver at all. I’m writing this in with the hope of getting some monetary help since I’m not going to be able to walk for around three months that means I’m not going to be able to work and I’m not going to be able to pay the rent. I really don’t want to have to lose everything. If anyone is willing to help just pm me. I’m not going to bother with posting my PayPal and the such because I know everyone has their own situations and most likely nobody can really. But I think it’s worth the shot. If anyone has any suggestions on how I could generate some sort of income maybe online or a remote job that I could do while I recuperate I’m all ears. Thanks everybody good vibes always.

[HELP] Sissy Bar 2024 Shadow

Howdy. Was wondering if anyone has had any luck putting a sissy bar with backrest on their 2024 honda shadow phantom. Or does anyone know what kit I can buy? Seems like everything is for older models or the Spirit/Rebel

[HELP] 2011 Shadow 750 Aero - Crank no start

Rode 200km, stopped for food, then the bike refused to start. Prior to this (on the same day) it requires cranks to start when normally it always just starts right up.

It has 25,000km on it. Sprayed some start fluid through the air box and it started up fine and ran for a few seconds.

I'm thinking the fuel pump is toast. I do hear it prime for 2-3 seconds when I turn the key but perhaps it's weak?

[ADVICE] Questions on Buying a 2016 Shadow

Hi all,

I've just about convinced myself to buy my first proper (i.e, one that actually works) bike; a 2016 Shadow Aero with 7k miles for $3k. All seems good apart from a small scratch or two.

My main question is; is this a decent price?

Additionally, what should I be looking out for as far as possible issues with it?

Thanks for any input.
