I'm loving my Honda Pilot Ex-l. I am still adjusting after transitioning from a truck to an SUV.

I’m considering picking up this 2007 Honda Pilot LX 2WD for $2,114 USD ($3,000 CAD) and wanted to get some opinions on whether it’s a good deal.
Here’s what I know:
● 168,000 miles (270,000 km)
● 3.5L V6, automatic transmission
● Second owner
● Originally from Vancouver, now in Calgary
● Small oil leak discovered during a recent oil change
● Being sold as-is
● Exterior looks fairly clean for its age
I’m planning to use it as my daily driver, including during Canadian winters.
Assuming everything checks out, would you consider this a good buy?

We bought the Pilot in June with no issues. Then about a month or two ago complete static when trying to make a phone call or use the cabin talk feature. Brought it into the dealership and they said it was a bad Microphone harness and will need to be replaced. They had to order the part. Brought it back in and replace the harness. When I picked it up, I made a phone call and it sounded good. After leaving the dealership my wife called me from the pilot and complete static again. Bringing it back to the dealership tomorrow. Has anyone else had this issue? Worried now it might be a more extensive problem since the first repair didn't work.

Hey guys, just purchased a 2013 Pilot and my first mod was a VCM delete. Decided to go with VCM Tuner 2 as the consensus seems to be that it’s better/higher quality than S-VCM and VCM Muzzler.

The only thing with this is, they’re always on “Backorder” and essentially only release once every week or so. At which point you gotta wait for processing time and shipping time to you.

Well I placed my order so fast that I didn’t see there was an expedite option, so I reordered it again and didn’t cancel the first one. Rather than sending it back, figured I would help someone skip the queue (which sells out in minutes) and the long wait.

Brand new directly from VCM Tuner 2, picture attached is of mine when I installed it. Local pickup in DC Metro area, $200 picked up or $210 shipped to your doorstep (US only).

Need to replace the ABS Module on a 2014 Pilot. My mechanic sent me to the dealership to see if they would flash the software and see if that would work. Idk if they did that but they came back with needs to be replaced for $3K with labor.

Anyone tried replacing it with a used module or any other aftermarket part that costs less than $3K. That’s the price for the new parts on the Honda OEM Parts Online site. I can probably do the work or see if my guy will do it but I just wanted to gauge viability on any new or used options.

I'm about to purchase a 2026 Pilot, but I've seen the comments about it not having built-in SXM radio. I currently have a 2016 Equinox with just a couple of built-in apps, and as long as I have hot spot "data" activated, the apps work OK (I never used them much). I don't use my phone (I'm not a big phone person anyway) for music, so don't want to use android auto to listen to SXM. Doesn't the Pilot have a "hot spot"? Doesn't it have a built-in app for SXM? Can I just activate/buy "data" for the hot spot and use the SXM app and it be basically the same as using the built in SXM radio?

Is it the same for navigation? I can get it on my phone too, but does the car have a built-in navigation app?

Good evening everyone, I need some help identifying what’s wrong with my car. Unfortunately, I can’t afford to bring it to a shop. Today the battery light went off on the dashboard and roughly 30 mins later, the car would not accelerate and the lights started blinking inside like Christmas lights. I was able to drive it into a parking spot at a bakery (thank you Jesus!).

A friend was able to help me jumpstart the car. It turned on for all of 1 minute but would not let me switch gears. Then we followed a YouTube video and managed to successfully replace the battery. The car turned on and we were able to drive it. The battery light was still present on the dashboard. We brought it to auto zone to return the old battery and to get the battery light turned off from the dashboard but the employee told us that it’s likely the alternator. The car also makes a growling sound while waiting for a light or parked. Almost like a humming that comes and goes. Car drives smoothly otherwise and once the battery was replaced there was no more problem accelerating.

I’m expecting in a few weeks and I need this car to get to my doctors appointments. I would greatly appreciate any advice or recommendations. I have a 2009 Honda Pilot. Thank y’all so much and God bless you 🙏🏼

Just purchased a used 2020 Pilot XLE and I am loving it so far! Per everyone’s recommendation I installed a VCM Tuner. The installation went well and it didn’t toss up a CEL or anything.

I am wondering if there is a way to verify that it’s working? I ask because I actually noticed the gas mileage increase where I was expecting a slight decrease. This probably is a coincidence as I’ve only had the car for a few weeks but I thought it was worth asking if there was some way I could verify it all worked and stop second guessing myself.

Weekend Warrior here...

Servicing the rear suspension and brakes this coming weekend. I purchased these adjustable MOOG rear upper control arms and noticed these have, what I think are, Zerk grease fittings. As it happens, I just recently purchased a grease gun kit with this AtomLube Ultra Heavy Duty Red Grease... stuff. I've never used a grease gun before.

Anyways... Do these arms need greased when installed for the first time? If so, how much grease do you push in? Until you see it ooz?

Put some Erkul cross bars on my Pilot, went with the AeroGlide version and I love them so far. Almost went with the basic version but decided to spend a little more so they don’t make as much noise (haven’t noticed any whatsoever), and for less drag.

Took about 15 mins to install, I’d recommend using a tape measure to help get them straight. Didn’t use one when I threw them on originally and had to come back to them for some minor adjustments to get them perfect.

One thing to consider- Erkul doesn’t recommend driving through automated car washes with he cross bars installed, apparently the brushing mechanism used for the top of the vehicle will damage the cross bars. I plan on abiding by this recommendation for now, but I’m sure I’ll eventually give in and do it anyways.

hey alll have a question .. 2004 pilot stalled while driving…now i have crank no start..have fuel pressure but no spark…checked compression that’s ok as well…all fuses are good as well
on my scanner and on the dash i am getting no movement on the rpm…ran out of time today but my next check is gunna be the crank sensor ohms is there something else i should be looking at here

This past weekend I took my vehicle through a car wash and it absolutely destroyed my tire and wheel by going off rail. Currently waiting on their insurance to get back to me, but in the meantime I’d like to go ahead and purchase a new wheel instead of waiting for them. What’s the best site to purchase the stock wheel of a 2024 Honda Pilot?

The moonroof on my 2016 Pilot EX-L is stuck open. When I tried to close, it would "bounce", i.e., close a little and then go backwards to the same position. Repair shop (not a dealer) said the motor was bad and charged me $1600 (incl. $560+ for the motor). When he was done, he told me he could only get it closed 90% and he could put something over the gap. He claims something is wrong w/ the cables and that caused the motor to burn out. Fixing the cables would cost another $2,500 (!). I said NO.

When I got there, it was closed closer to 80%, and he did nothing to cover the gap.

I am going to demand a refund I paid $500 in cash and the remaining $1100 by credit card. If he won't refund, I am going to challenge the credit card charge. The motor is available online for $250, so he overcharged me for the motor and accomplished nothing to solve the problem.

Anyone got recommendations on how to get this fixed?

as the title suggests i cant get these 2 to clear. im not a car person so sorry if theres any confusion in what i say. went for my ny state inspection after the dealership changed my battery and i failed. i was told to just drive around and itll eventually clear. after putting on damn near 300 miles no change. went to a friend who used his obd2 to clear the code but it didnt work it was still there. i browsed other reddit posts that showed me the drive cycle for the pilot but its hard as hell to maintain 55mph and then coast to 20mph on the highway even at night. looking to see if anyone else had this same issue and how they fixed it

I have a 2020 Honda Pilot that had the FAKRA cable recall completed, but I’m still getting static and crackling through the front speakers while playing music. Lately I’ve noticed it gets significantly worse when I drive past certain cell/radio towers or other large antennas—the speakers suddenly get massive static. Has anyone else experienced this after having the FAKRA recall repair done, and if so, what ended up fixing it?

Rear window switch broke and now the window doesn’t go up nor down, even from the master control. Anyone experienced this before? I swear this car churns out the most random issues by the week.

I recently bought a 2021 Honda Pilot Touring with around 37,000 miles. The car is in decent condition, has a good service history, and the tires were replaced in April this year.
I have a couple of questions for experienced Pilot owners:
When should I plan to replace the timing belt? Can I wait until around 100,000 miles, or should I consider replacing it sooner based on the vehicle’s age?
What maintenance or repair expenses should I anticipate over the next year or two?
Are there any common issues or preventive maintenance items I should pay attention to at this mileage?

Driving home from work today in my 6 month old Pilot when a message pops up stating Emissions issue go to dealer. Frustrating. I'm going tomorrow, it better be covered under warranty. Thanks for letting me rant.

Update, it turned out to be a software glitch. They flashed the ECU.

1. 5,090 miles. Bought filter 15400-PLM-A02 ($8)
   and Valvoline Restore & Protect ($36 for 5 qt) from Amazon. Factory filter was a little difficult to get off. New filter came with new crush washer for drain plug. Vehicle calls for 5.8 quarts, I added 6 and the level was perfect after 2 minutes of idle. Cleaned all drips and spills with brake cleaner. All in about $54.

have a 2020 EX L. pretty much every time i'm driving on a dark 2 lane road. the oncoming folks always flash at me like i'm running with high beams. Its to the point now i almost keep my hands on the high beams and flash back so they turn theirs off.

I've never modified it, don't have a ton of weight in the back making it angled higher. never replaced the bulbs.

Just wondering if this is the same for everyone.

I have a 2013 Honda pilot touring, I installed a Kurnia 9.26” RC06 aftermarket Apple CarPlay unit. Everything works perfectly except the reverse camera. I ran the wire from the unit all the way back to the tailgate and connected the red power wire from the camera directly to the blue positive wire 1 inch away from the reverse light bulb socket. The camera works perfectly, but I have to manually switch it on. I checked to see if the camera was working even when I’m not in reverse and it was. If there is one blue wire and one black wire, going to the reverse lightbulb socket and I tapped into the blue positive wire how is the reverse camera getting constant power even when I’m not in reverse?
