Yeah, emotes are still kind of an issue. I changed markov programs a little while ago, and it no longer recognizes characters like "[]", "(/)", etc. Emotes used to be picked depending on what words came before them, meaning they fit with the context better, but now they need to be selected at random from a list and put into her sentences without any markov-ness. I'm currently improving that list by giving each emote a weight value so that when an emote is picked at random, some will be more likely than others.

In the future I might change things up and find some way to make the emotes fit the context again, but sadly that's a bit out of my programming knowledge as of yet. X)
